So as the glorious season ends for another year, I am wondering what happens to the kits that the players wear? Are they auctioned off, or thrown to the crowd? Did anyone get a shirt today off a player for example?

Also what happens to old replica kits that don't get sold?

Yes, it will be a long close season!

I imagine they keep them so they can send a few out for charity auctions and family, and archive some for when they're old and want to look back on their careers.

Bet Billy has the least being a Sheffield lad/living legend/captain.

What about seasons where we were crap, like the adkins season?

Would they really keep the socks and shorts?

if not, where do they go?

Ok, any ideas on the replica kits in the club store?
No idea on the replicas, last year I think they sold out or damn close? Know there weren't many away shirts last time I looked in the store.
I imagine it's like any old clothing line, they could go to discount outlets and sold at massive reductions (and still make a profit)

I wonder if there's a shop somewhere selling all of our League One shirts for a fiver?

A few are on Classic Football Shirts I think?
This is true but the price varies dramatically. Some go over £100 which implies there aren't many around from certain seasons.

The kit in your avatar used to be the kit we played in at Hillsborough fc, ( I know) a former employee at the club bought it off them for us and we had 15 full kits which we played in the Sunday league wearing, it wasn’t the first team kit more likely a reserve team kit, just numbers and no names..

I fruitlessly tried to get a number 10 with Deane on it when he left but was told he took the shirts he had with him when he went to Leeds.. the players keep the match worn shirts as is said further up the thread, some get given away and end up on ebay, they cost a few quid but it’s your best chance of obtaining a match worn shirt.
