McCabe wants to sell Blades

Hasn't McCabe been trying to sell the club for the last 10 years? Unless he's managed to sign a deal with HRH that means he'll lose it for very little (~GBP 5 mln), he hasn't wasted any time in putting the For Sale signs out following the promotion has he?

Didn't somebody mention about mccabe having Chinese investors lined up a couple of months ago?

Yes was about to post the same, not sure if chinese was specified but definitely that McCabe had someone waiting in the wings should he win the court case, which he seems confident of doing. And with all of the investment and population growth in Sheffield at the moment, a chinese owner would seem very logical.

James Shield [yeah I know but bear with me] wrote t'other day that now we had a PL windfall, it was far more likely that Kev and the Prince would settle out of court. The Prince walks away with a wedge, and Kev gets to sell for a hefty profit. The Prince always said he dreamt of owning a PL team, now that he owns half one I think it would take some serious wonga to make him walk, unless he knows his chances of losing the case are high and he risks losing the lot.

Interesting times indeed!

Or he could be bull shitting, he has lied to us in the past once or twice.

No one has ever lied on here about McCabe.

If Kev wants out, he is 71, this is the best chance he will ever have to find a buyer
Will be an interesting few months

I’m concerned tbh about the idea of McCabe winning the case and immediately selling sole ownership to an “international owner” we know absolutely nothing about. PA hasn’t been particularly visible/vocal this since, but McCabe hasn’t either in fairness. And while I think there are genuine concerns about PA, I think these are overall less than getting someone in that is unfamiliar with the club, hasn’t crucially experienced this club pre-Wilder (so if times get tough next season will be less aware of how good a job Wilder’s done taking us so rapidly from that situation in League 1), and will be more likely to want to reshape the structure at the club. People were horrified by the idea of bringing a DoF in, but realistically the role exists in some form at most PL clubs, and it’s likely a new owner would want something similar.

If we have two co-owners, one of whom is now on record as desperate to get out, one of whom hasn’t shown any indication they’re desperate to get out, why is everyone wanting the former to win this case and immediately sell on to someone we’ve no idea about?
Go on then, which incredibly rich potential owner WOULD you (or we for that matter) have an idea about?

Is it possible that the person “lined up” has already agreed to buy out whomever wins the court case, and the case might simply determine how much this person pays both current owners?

Virtually none. But the suggestion that they would somehow interfere less with Wilder, or that it would be “better for Wilder” if anyone other PA is in control, doesn’t feel as though it’s based on anything other than blind optimism.

Has Kev gone for a Chinese? Maybe at a former sponsors place. That was a rumour a year or so back. Interesting times.

Here's hoping any potential new owner respects and 'gets' what Wilder/Knill/Mitchell have carefully built at Bramall Lane and doesn't try mess with the formula.
And that’s my big concern tbh. New owners often want to tear up the script and impose their own ideas on a club. Whatever happens, whoever owns us in the future, I hope they recognise that we have a winning formula going on down there and don’t change it for changes sake.
