Something to consider, making a mistake while a Blade is tolerated, but as MU's keeper? They expect flawless performances, so if De Gea gets it wrong and it results in nonsense like this, imagine what life would be like for Henderson if he dropped a bollock at The Theatre of Dreams.
 
Sorry but look at the saves de gea makes over a season, he's an immense keeper, did we drop hendo after a bad game or two? You just don't he's saved the team so many times he's well in credit.

If they drop de gea will leave in the summer.
 
If De Gea leaves they'll sign a continental name. Probably offer £100m for Oblak and then settle for someone else at £70m if he doesn't fancy Europa League football.
 
If we are unable to do a deal with Man Utd to get Henderson for the whole of next season i would suggest we make every effort to get Darren Randolph from Middlesbrough,assuming they don't get promoted.
 
There are probably four goalkeepers in the world who have any chance of being Man Utd’s 1st choice keeper next season. One currently occupies that position, and the other three player play for other teams. Hendo isn’t one of them.

His immediate future is either with us or on loan to another championship club or possibly a Bundesliga club.
 
No matter what happens to De Gea, Henderson is not going to be playing in goal for them next season. Or even 2nd on the list. They’ll go out and buy a world class keeper

I could see a triple transfer happening - De Gea to Real Madrid, Courtois to Atletico Madrid, Oblak to Man Utd.
 
I don’t know what the lads motivation is but it would be a very brave decision to leave Old Trafford. But if he signed for us he’d definitely play in front of 75k at OT a lot quicker.

When I coached kids footy I always reminded them not to blame the keeper because the other team had beaten all 10 of them to get to our keeper.
 
Man Utd will not give (in their eyes) and unproven keeper a chance. Any other position I think they would gamble on with a youngster but I simply cant see it when it comes to goalkeeper.

It could also ruin Hendersons career, could he deal with the media pressure should he make a similar mistake like he did in the Leeds, Villa, Bristol games. He's won us games no doubt, probably like De Gea has for Man Utd this season but when it comes to these big teams they massively focus on the negatives.

He's a confident lad and re-iterated on Sunday that his aim is still to be their No.1. There comes a point though where he'll need to be realistic, and teams like Man U prefer to go for proven players, particularly in a position like that. This, again, is why I think they'll be happy to loan him back to us for a season to see how he copes as he'll certainly be busy you'd expect ! Even then, they'll argue that it's easier playing for us than having the pressure of being Man U's keeper. Look at the pressure De Gea has been under in the last few weeks and the experience he has.
 
I really hope we can keep Deano but if we can't do the deal then i would go for Neil Etheridge from Cardiff. Tall strong lad who despite Cardiff having a bad season has been brilliant. Top keeper.
 
He's had a dip in form, dropped a few clangers recently. Happens even to the best and if the Man Utd management team have anything about them, they'll recognise that's what it is and stay with arguably the best keeper in the world.

However, if that dip in form is due to other issues and he's not happy there or has had his head turned by the Real interest, they should get rid. They are a good club for promoting youngsters through their ranks, but rarely do they do that with a keeper. My guess is that if any movement happens, De Gea will go to Madrid and they will go for either Courtois or Oblak. The key for us is whether Romeo who is a good keeper in his own right is happy to be number 2 yet again or wants to move on and be playing more. If he does they may want Henderson as number two, again unlikely as that position is one they like to have experience. I think Henderson will either be loaned back to us for another season, or a transfer is agreed with a buy back option for Man Utd.
 
I think a buy back option would suit everyone concerned. Then they can’t pull him back whenever suits them.
 
While we’re there ask them if Pogba would be available on loan. Chrissie would straighten him out.
