The main man in black on Saturday.

Any matches he's covered us this season?

X

Remarkably few red cards.

Wonder what the odds on Saturday are...?

Not a bad opening bat, bit dour in the Boycott modus, but scored loads of runs for Nottinghamshire and a good few for England. Gone on to be a very competent umpire. Cricket left the Lane a long time ago, though.
yeah but he keeps his radio truckin' on through the night.................

I saw Robinson get a big century (166 if memory serves) in the first Test match I went to. Javed Miandad time wasted more than Angus Gunn and the bloke next to me brought an enormous suitcase in which was full of cans of McEwan's.

Jesus, I'm getting old...

... and was a student at the University of Sheffield.

Once shared a jacuzzi with him in a hotel in Stockton-on-Tees.

True story.

I went to see England and West Indies in 1984. Sat down early in the play, after about half an hour two old boys from Jamaica (Sheffield based, I sort of knew them) came and sat next to me carrying the biggest cool boxes I have ever seen. One had patties, jerk chicken, rice and peas et al in it along with two bottles of rum. The other was chock full of red stripe lager. I think England got a right pasting, but it's all a bit hazy to recall. Best day at the cricket ever!

Best cricket picnic I've ever seen was at Pakistan v Australia at Headingley in the World Cup. Big group of Pakistani fellas, all dressed like the man from Del Monte, had enormous amounts of food which all looked amazing. No alcohol at all. We asked them where they'd travelled from, half expecting them to say Bradford (racial stereotyping in full effect) and they said Lahore.

A combination of chatting to them, the obnoxious Aussies and having a Pakistani lad with us (surreptitiously drinking vodka and coke from a coke bottle) meant we got right into supporting Pakistan. I remember running on the pitch at the end, having had a pint or two, singing "Pakistan, Zindabad". Would love to see the TV coverage - every chance I was the only white face on there.

Leeds have got Stuart Attwell a premier league referee, they will love him as a choice :D................his last visit was when Norwich came and won 3-1 on the 2nd Feb.

The first summer I got in to Test Match Cricket was memorable as in the last test of the summer Javid Miandad ground out 260 in the final test of the summer.
