Adrian Durham not a fan of blades

Everyone thinks Leeds are going up because they think they're better than us, and as a footballing side they are. However, we have the heart that can take us anywhere.
 



In its early days talk sport was good .. But now it's a radio equivalent of the Sun newspaper. The call rates are ridiculous and the headlines are pure shock jock stuff to incite an argument. Durham could hold an argument with himself and not win so ridiculous are some of his premises
 
I wouldn't get too wound up by all this - Durham has proved hundreds of times over the years that he either is very misguided in his opinions and/or that he takes positions simply to generate responses.

I used to be an avid listener to Talk Sport but very rarely listen these days. Jim White is impossible to listen to, Durham and his thick side-kick's only aim is to drum-up responses, Brazil is a dinosaur and has become less entertaining particularly when joined by Parlour, who is unable to string a sentence together, or his fellow Glaswegian, McCoist and even Hawksbee & Jacobs seem to have run out of ideas. The only show wother listening to is the 7-10pm slot when Danny Kelly and (to my surprise) Nathalie Sawyer show how professionals do it.

I, for one, much prefer people to still be tipping Leeds and Villa over Utd as it only adds to the pressure on them. The only time we saw the consensus of opinion change was immediately following Utd's win at Elland Road.

Durham makes the the most money, hence why he's on the drive time slot.

It's not about being the most knowledgeable, it's about getting 'the most clicks' and he certainly does with his frankly ridiculous opinions.

If anyone calls to oppose, he just calls them idiots and they kill the call off.
 
If you don't like them then why suffer them? Turn off or change channel, personally I still think H&J are worth a listen & Danny Kelly is the best broadcaster on Talksport agreed but I don't mind Parry at all. He doesn't believe a word he utters & is just a complete wind up merchant & funny with it at times, certainly more personable than Durham.

However, in all my life living in Yorkshire, I have never seen the word 'owt' written down like that. Never. Not that it's wrong, I've just never seen it!
 
Anyone else hear Jim White this morning talking with Kemar Roofe? It's incredible that someone of Jim's standing thought Leeds "deserved" to be in the Pl and the Pl "needs Leeds United"! The other guy, who has always been more level headed (can't remember his name but he supports Orient) said you had to get there on merit.

You could tell that Roofe thought they were up this morning too. I recall Harry at the end of the Harry's Game video saying that our fans thought we had a divine right to be in the top flight but you don't no one does, only on merit. We might not get promoted, who knows, but I thought they were supposed to be impartial!?!?!? I really hope we do no interviews to the national press until the season is over.

Imagine the ignorance of a group of “journalists” on a national radio station who openly admit to seeing the potential champions of the 2nd tier of English football for the first time as late in the day as game week 44.
 
As those on the shoutbox will know, I listened to talksport for the first time in years as they covered our game and they were waxing lyrical about us.

My favourite comment from Durham was something on the lines of

'Let no one tell you that Sheffield United are a traditional industrial long ball team. They have been an absolute joy to watch their passing their movement, first rate'
 
What a f....king joke of a journalist, commenting on a team all season that he had never seen live.

Adrian Durham won’t be bothered what anyone thinks and he’s not a dickhead, he’s just doing his job and is very good at it.
He goes out of his way to be controversial and get reactions/ callers/ tweets, so he won’t sit on the fence and always goes extreme. Also you don’t need to see a team play to say something controversial.

Durham thrives on playing the pantomime villain, it’s not personal.

I also heard him reporting on our match against Hull and he was really complementary, said he can see why we are at the top,
Said we powered into a 3-0 lead then took our foot off the gas to cruise to an easy win.
Said we were impressive and “Chris Wilder is the real deal”.
 
Fucking hell, does he stand in the bookies watching the horses and try and bet on the leader when the race is almost over?

The other guy is comedian Bob Mills. He's been behind us all season, saying he really wants us to go up after the history behind our Premier relegations.

Holloway said he was going to kill him when he heard him slagging Billy off the other week.

He didn’t really have a pop. They were chatting about the new book and how the presenters (mainly Alan Brazil) has made so many mistakes whilst presenting. They were taking the piss out of Brazil so he reminded Durham that he’s not so clever himself. Reminded him that he predicted Billy Sharp would really struggle in the PL when he scores within 10 minutes of being on the pitch in his 1st game in the PL. They laughed at Durham powers of prediction.
Durham’s quick retort was....”well how is his Premier League career going so far”

Durham has 2 jobs on Talksport.
His main job is presenter....his chosen role is be controversial...try to wind people up....get a reaction.
He’s earning his money....going a good job....because his style earns loads of publicity, tweets, phone calls for his station.
Think of him as being another Brian The Blade......he’s deliberately trying to be the pantomime villain....don’t take him seriously, it’s just a bit of fun.

Durham’s second job is match commentator where he gives some serious sensible punditry.
When ever he’s commentated on our matches and being serious he’s always very complementary about us and Billy Sharp.

Totally. Under his cuntish exterior there's a decent presenter. I turn the radio over when he's on midweek, but on a Saturday he does a very good Jeff Stelling impersonation...
