Wilders comment after the match about us playing it backwards and sideways after we scored. Don't really understand why he then brought on a midfielder who always plays the safe ball by playing it backwards and sideways?

What else did he expect?
That is how we have played the last few games. So negative and lacking balls. Contrast our approach and determination (or lack of) with Leeds. Sickening.

Tell Scooter that... :)

For the record I totally agree and argued that point. They’re extremely negative subs and totally contradictory to what Wilder said post match.
When seen in isolation, perhaps so.

But against the backdrop of the earlier substitution of Madine for Basham ..........?????

Not so clear cut. Is it ??

Yes it is.

There was no need to change things. Like for like with Hogan was exactly what we needed and taking Sharp off for a defender just invited pressure.

It also got us back to the shape and formation that has served us so well for nearly 3 years.

Basically Madine replaced Sharp and Crainie replaces Bash. Albeit not in that order.

Not that hard to see is it ??

I see it as negative. No need to sacrifice a striker at 1-0.

It goes completely against what Wilder said post match.

Agree entirely.

I didn't understand the Madine substitution. It necessitated a change in formation and it took us 15 mins to get back in any sort of groove.

We then come out in the second half and look really solid, score a cracking goal and look in total control. Then Sharp goes off and we necessitate another formation change when one simply wasn't needed. We removed McGoldrick from the midfield (where he was having a cracking game) and lost the battle in midfield and any attacking impetus.

The most baffling change was Coutts though. I actually thought he did quite well, but bringing on a player who hasn't played more than 30 mins in 16 months, when trying to defend a 1-0 lead was bizarre.

The game was crying out for Hogan to give us an out ball, if not when Sharp went off, when Duffy did.

However, forget the substitutions, the whole teams looked like they collectively shit themselves when we got to 20 mins left and realised we had something to lose.

I've seen some bottle jobs in my time supporting United, but the second half today takes the fucking gold star...

Correct pal, today was a pivotal moment and Wilder blew it. We love him but tonight this is on him.

Well, we are not Man City, we have division one and some division two players in our squad and we are pushing for the autos. Give me a fugging break, fantastic season. If Wilder can push them over the line, fair enough. We are all disappointed with recent results at home but if anyone can squeeze another 10% out of our fatuiged lads its Chrissy Wilder. I hope my English is OK.

His interview after the game is one of the poorest he has ever done. Kept going on about the ref. He did mention us not going forward and not being brave but his changes were bizaree today.

Cranie and Coutts were very defensive and meant Didsy went back forward and we had noone holding the ball and a big gap between the three depts. Freeman and Stevens never got out and we just invited pressure.

I tend to agree - and the subs hardly helped. Having said that, when wing-backs were almost refusing to cross the halfway line, it certainly didn't help our cause.

I agree, for the first time in a long time I saw Wilder bottle it. OK he has brought on defenders before and it's bit us on the arse now and then like Stoke at home, Villa etc. Today was blind fear from the bench, you don't go up by being chicken shit. I hope Wilder sees this.

As I said before, we are not Man City, we don't have 22 first team players we can rotate. We have probably 14 who we have ran into the ground playing our tactics. Now we are getting injuries with knackered players, lets hope the likes of Lundstram, Hogan, Cranie, Stearman etc can come in and fill some boots. Sorry for my English.

I’m gutted listening to that. I always feel better when I listen to his interviews, if anything I just feel worse after that.

We didn't win League 1 and go to the top of the championship last season by Coutts playing backwards and sideways passes

I have a feeling that CW crossed the rubicon this afternoon. It’s the 2nd time in four matches that he’s messed up the subs & been punished. Consecutively in two home games we’ve lost shape & dropped back onto the 18 yard line. It’s lost us either 3 or 5 points depending on how you look at it. Done things differently and we’re in 2nd. He’s not the messiah, just like Portferfield; he’s found his level and he’s beginning to splash about a bit in the deep water, all ruddy faced and sweaty. Out thunk by Monk, Harris & Johnson in recent weeks.

Let’s see how ‘respectful’ the BDTBL crowd is, when we drop into the play offs, get easily done over two legs against whoever, lose 1/3 to 1/2 of the 1st team squad over the summer, fail to replace them & start next season with all the get up & go of an overweight arthritic labrador chasing a squirrel.

We had a great chance of promotion this season, and we’ve fucked it up and it will have implications & ramifications next season.

*edit: regardless of whether you think I’m disrespectful or not, my post is factually correct on every point.

Your English is fine. More importantly, you are speaking good sense.

He gave a frank interview in my view and didn't mention the ref until the second part of the interview. I thought it was a decent interview. We all see things differently though.

What a pathetic performance by the chump who interviewed Wilder.
Allowed him to blame the players , yet didn't query either of the negative substitutions.
A gentle question about his reasons for replacing the leading scorer with a defender might have helped 26,000 people understand what seems totally inconsistent with his claim to have instructed the players to search for the second goal.
Oh , and putting Coutts on instead of Dowell or Hogan was just stupid.

The most naive part about the second half yesterday for me was the failure to try and stop the balls out wide.

We were happy to allow their players out wide have time and space to deliver even before Egan went off.

Surely with 2 or 3 giants it's only a matter of time. They had good chances before the goal. Balls from deep are much easier to defend.

Absolute tool.

You think saying Wilder has found his level is factually correct?

Absolute. Tool.
