Sorry to put a dampener on things great last 5 results but we have played well in most of those games, defensively brilliant but going forward poor. Now we need to combine the best of our attacking play and combine it with our new defensive resilience. We can’t rely on defence alone

More significant for me is the reaction after the kick in the nuts that was the Villa match. If you look at our results since then, you need to include beating Boro 1-0 [the best and most apt way of beating a Pulis team] and 4-0 v Reading, which probably should have been 6 or 7.

So since Villa it's played 7, with 6 wins and 1 draw. 11 goals scored and not 1 fucking conceded. 18 points from a possible 21, at 2.57 points per game. If Carlsberg did responses to disappointing results!

My only nagging concern now is the international break, god how I detest them! Either it's worrying about a key player getting injured or the team going off the boil somehow. The former is always a risk but thankfully the latter is something we seem to have gotten over. Still, I just want the next match and soon. Brizzle will be tough though, hopefully we can keep the run going or otherwise we could very easily find ourselves back in 3rd as I fancy Leeds to take out their frustrations on Millwall.

I know what you mean about the international breaks. Our three results following the international breaks this season are:
Bristol City (A) 0-1
FLDC (A) 1-2
Rotherham (A) 2-2 (candidate for worst performance of the season)

A small sample size admittedly, and I'd hope we've improved and become more resilient than earlier in the season. They've all been away too.
Hopefully this pattern changes next week.

Agree with the sentiment, but not that Rotherham was a tough local derby. The idea that playing Rotherham is somehow made much harder for us because they live next door is pushing it a bit (a lot).

I didn’t see the Bristol at home game last season but apparently we were mugged having hit posts, bars etc then they scored the winner in the last Knute when the ball sowewhat unfortunately for them dropped kindly for Flint to score. Have they used up their luck? Hopefully.

We were - CW again referred to this game after Leeds on Saturday, as well as Cardiff and Villa last season as "big" games that we possibly deserved to win, but didn't.
