My point is; I don't think they could have had tougher run of games. 3 local derbies in 12 games. Not only have the team done phenomenally well, but they've gotten tough and resillient even when clearly tiring.

They dig deep now and they're a lot lot more than a good footballing team. I don't think they'd have ground out those results together a few months earlier.

Superb team effort, in my opinion there was no such thing as a man of the match yesterday as they all were.

Been saying it for a while that whoever finished the Leeds game on top would have to be considered big favourites.

I'm trying not to put the weight of expectation on it but that's how it is. Before the WBA game I thought there was still that chance that we'd find out we weren't quite up to it. Wilder and his team haven't just competed with the big boys, they've beaten them.

I'm not getting carried away, there's one point in it and a long way to go, it's just that you have to be honest and say there's no one left to play that we can't honestly say we're better than. Only downside is you can still say the same for Leeds and Norwich and one slip could undo a lot of work. Still, we aren't looking to improve, we aren't needing to plug weaknesses, it's all about doing what we've already shown we can do.

More significant for me is the reaction after the kick in the nuts that was the Villa match. If you look at our results since then, you need to include beating Boro 1-0 [the best and most apt way of beating a Pulis team] and 4-0 v Reading, which probably should have been 6 or 7.

So since Villa it's played 7, with 6 wins and 1 draw. 11 goals scored and not 1 fucking conceded. 18 points from a possible 21, at 2.57 points per game. If Carlsberg did responses to disappointing results!

My only nagging concern now is the international break, god how I detest them! Either it's worrying about a key player getting injured or the team going off the boil somehow. The former is always a risk but thankfully the latter is something we seem to have gotten over. Still, I just want the next match and soon. Brizzle will be tough though, hopefully we can keep the run going or otherwise we could very easily find ourselves back in 3rd as I fancy Leeds to take out their frustrations on Millwall.

It got me thinking of how well Bristol done over the last couple of seasons but have been scuppered by selling/losing key players such as Flint, Reid and Abraham. This is the first season I can remember United not selling anybody and look how well we're doing!

Same with the Bristol players you've mentioned. I doubt there's a championship club that's brought in circa fifteen million in the last two transfer windows (this season's transfer windows)..Makes Wilder's work all the more admirable imo.
