Does Norwoods booking status reset now or after the Brentford game?

If it’s after the Brentford game then surely it’s best if Norwood doesn’t play against Brentford otherwise 1 more yellow card Tuesday night and he’ll miss out on the very tough Leeds ans Bristol City games.

Henderson - Stevens, Egan, Basham - Johnson, Fleck, Coutts, Baldock - Dowell - Sharp, Hogan

If O'Connell is completely fine then swap him in but I'd rather not risk anything, don't let Norwood get booked before Leeds, and see what Hogan can do working with Sharp/Dowell, intending to give Madine and McGoldrick time in the second half regardless

i would start with exactly the same team against brentford as started the game today. why fiddle and tinker? what is to be gained?

The writing that reads “here’s a novel idea, how about where possible we play our best players for each position on the football pitch”?
Don’t disagree.

However, if Ollie was to get an injury, or that suspension that is looming takes effect, would the gaffer be more confident with Coutts if he had actually had some recent game time ?

I’ve asked this question in such a way that there is only one answer, HOWEVER, bring dismissive of what PC actually offers is, bluntly, naive.

As would be NOT giving him a further year on his contract, IMHO.

UTB

A lot of people treating this almost as a warm up friendly for Leeds.. careful this will be a tough one.

Yep, they’ll have their tails up having won at Boro yesterday.

A better performance?

Also, why would we leave out our top scorer and club captain in 2 consecutive games?

Could see him freshening it up with a similar side to the one that started at the sty but then again, yesterday was so easy that he might not feel the need for fresh legs.

Coutts in for Norwood so he doesn't get booked and play Fleck and Duffy with him obviously. Go with the same front two as today, assuming Sharp and Madine will start at Leeds. Hogan playing a couple of games in a row will do him good, rather than occasional appearances.

I would go with sharp and mcgoldrick against Leeds. Mcgoldrick has more flexibility which I think will make the difference

Oh dear, looks like the time of year for the annual outbreak of Brentforditis.
Quite the opposite fella ,
Just after watching the highlights surprised they’ve only won 2 away all season
I have full faith in Sir Chris to install our game plan on them
I only worry about Brentford when we play them twice a year ( hopefully after this season they’ll be in our rear view mirror ) bit like pigs ( hopefully)

Hogan and Sharp wont play together -either one plus either Didzy or Madine

I agree that Hogan & Sharp could struggle together - they seem too-similar players. That being said, if we had 2 players who like to play on the shoulders of defenders and have space to run in to, with a player behind them who can pick them out then maybe it could work

Fuck me just seen highlights of there game with the smoggies
3 goals disallowed, hit the bar and came from 1-0 down
Where going to have to be on it Tuesday
just to think they got a footballing lesson up at the death trap the tother week

Not sure about that, the below seems to indicate they were a little fortunate to win.

I think this will be a really tough game and our hardest home game this calendar year. They have some really good players. They are lacking consistency but on their day they are as good as anyone in the division. We need to ensure we start well again. In a weird way I am more concerned by this than Leeds - as that game takes care of itself in terms of the players knowing what it means. I am a little concerned many fans are focusing on the weekend. I expect Leeds to win at Reading so if we slip up here we could be 5 or 4 points behind - then Saturday we would have to win as 8 points would be too much of a gap at this stage.

Maybe Brentford and the rest of the league are more worried about us? They should be.

Funny one with Duff, it’s like he’s a confidence player, shit scared of putting a foot wrong, then once he produces a bit of magic he becomes our best player. Just wish he would open up his game more often, don’t be so frightened. Good performance from him today I thought
Duffy is known for never hiding, if he makes a mistake he's back wanting the ball straightaway. He's never been shit scared in his life and keeps going if things aren't going his way as he proved again yesterday. Top player over the last three seasons.

I agree. If we keep playng like we are then we have no worries but you always worry that it will be hard to keep the superb home form up we have done and will concede/drop points before the end pf the season. Would be great to go into the Leeds game knowing if we beat them we went above them with 8 to play. I also think we then have home games Bristol, Millwall, Forest and Ipwich that are all winnable and then 4 away games against mostly mid table teams. The next 2 games are huge. They wont decide if we are going up but could decide if we are not.

Let them fuckers worry about us I say, we are unique and capable of blitzing them all. There is no pressure on us, we are the surprise package so play without fear, let them worry.

Personally I would play our strongest team and the team which we plan to play against Leeds. We have had a lot of changes recently and I am probably going to get shot down, but just a slight feeling we are a bit out of sync. Not that I am complaining but we need to be on it on Saturday

All fair points mate. All I would add is that Tuesday's game is vital. If we drop points here it's damaging (not catastrophic though). Winning on Tues sets us up superbly for Saturday. I agree that a little continuity will help for the remaining games, and up front I still feel that to begin with Bill and McG is the best way to start. I now think that Hogan and/or Dowell is a good option if called upon, but staring with Duffy is a must do for me.

Brentford-
Sharp for hogan
Leeds-
Madine for didsy
Dowell for Duffy
Maybe Cranie for bash(Cranie a better defender)

Well, no Sharp or Mcgoldrick and Duffy drops out too.
Hope Hogan n Madine gel n we get one or two from each.

Pleased with our team news, slightly disappointed with Brentford's! I was hoping Gunnarson would play in goal but they've got Luke Daniels back fit, which is a shame. Bentley still injured presumably.

seems likely they’ll (sharp, mcg, duffy) be the three up top against leeds. fancy hogan for one tonight. utb!
