Baldock - Norwood - Fleck - Stevens

- - - - - - - - - McGoldrick

- - - - - - Sharp - - - - - Hogan

Subs: Moore, Basham, Johnson, Coutts, Duffy, Dowell, Madine

Basham wasn't great today, Cranie's been better recently so I'd put him back in.

McGoldrick is looking increasingly natural in the Duffy role and I don't think it's any sort of risk starting him there. Offers added goal threat.

This game will suit Hogan more than any other home game so I'd keep him in, get Sharp back in and put McGoldrick behind them over Dowell so we're not too lightweight up top. Those three should have the chance to link and create in an open game.

Madine could be a great sub to bring on against that Brentford defence.

Like the logic of starting Hogan, would still start Sharp and McGoldrick upfront based on form.

Craine for Basham is the opposite, Craine deserves it on form (though I think Basham played well today) but I'd probably keep Basham in.

Think Hogan and Madine start up top, Billy gets 30 mins and then starts against Leeds.

nice to have 4-5 great options, thought Duffy was actually poor by his standards until he scored, McGoldrick looked a step slower than he has been but an incredibly intelligent player.

Hogan and Sharp wont play together -either one plus either Didzy or Madine

Duffy offers the spark that would have seen the pigs off. He's also the only player who can score a goal from outside the penalty box. I can't believe why so many of us believe he should always be the one to make way for someone else.

In other news, West Bromwich Albion have just sacked Darren Moore

Youre right Norwood is incapable of scoring outside the box.

I can recall a free kick but not much else. I'm a fan of his and his attributes are there for all to see but his goalscoring record with us is not one of them. My comment on Duffy stands up to scrutiny, yours on Norwood doesn't.

Scored from outside the box against Brentford I think

You're right, Norwood is definitely not capable of scoring outside the box and I will now bow down to your opinion which trumps all critics.

f*ckwit

Reminder for you

Fourteen posts in and no one has suggested giving Coutts a game yet. Slipping lads.

Fuck me just seen highlights of there game with the smoggies
3 goals disallowed, hit the bar and came from 1-0 down
Where going to have to be on it Tuesday
just to think they got a footballing lesson up at the death trap the tother week

JOC might be a doubt depending on his little nudge off the ball today. Might be better to rest him ready for the Dirties.

Almost right.

Bash ahead of Cranie and you nailed it :)

Oh dear, looks like the time of year for the annual outbreak of Brentforditis.

Funny one with Duff, it’s like he’s a confidence player, shit scared of putting a foot wrong, then once he produces a bit of magic he becomes our best player. Just wish he would open up his game more often, don’t be so frightened. Good performance from him today I thought

Coutts in for Norwood so he doesn't get booked and play Fleck and Duffy with him obviously. Go with the same front two as today, assuming Sharp and Madine will start at Leeds. Hogan playing a couple of games in a row will do him good, rather than occasional appearances.

I would have thought we would have seen PC get some pitch time today, after the 2nd goal went in.

Sadly, the writing does appear to be on the wall :(

UTB

The writing that reads “here’s a novel idea, how about where possible we play our best players for each position on the football pitch”?

I'd be happy with this, either Basham or Cranie are fine for me. Neither will let us down.

The only problem I think we'd have with Hogan and Sharp up top is that Sharp would end up being the hold up player and it takes away massively from his game.
