Impressive from Leeds.

Can the SAME eleven keep producing these types of performances though.

Lets see what Leeds team turns up in Bristol next week.

UTB

Answer to that is no, it was the same 11 midweek who lost to a side who hadn't won a league game in 7 I think it was.

Though QPR had not won in 9 games before beating Leeds.

I'm not saying they're invincible, nor that they won't have the odd blip. There just seems to be this strong belief (more correctly characterised as a 'wild hope') that they would inevitably collapse as the season neared it's end. 'Bielsa works them too hard - they're all flagging!', 'They lost a game to [insert poor outfit]' and best of all 'They won that one late, it must have taken it out of them!', ignoring the inconvenient truth that winning late, or winning while not playing well, are the signs of a good team, not a poor one.

It's been repeated so often that people think it must be true. I don't think it is. I strongly suspect Leeds will go up, probably as champions. Will they win their next 10? Of course not, but they'll win enough.

Well, that should be West Brom done.

Leeds were good but West Brom played right into their hands. They were terrible all game and had no answer at any stage. No workable system and tactically poor. Awful team selection. Moore has to at least stop trying to fit both Rodriguez and Gayle into that setup.

If anyone was to win, I would've preferred Leeds and although it's done us the job of distancing West Brom, it's a bit disappointing that they played well and won in that fashion. It may be a springboard for them. But it's one game. Rotherham would've given them a bigger test.

Chris Wilder was there. Hooe he's worked out how to deal with them.
Oh and my LeedsUnited face book friend has resurfaced. Wanker.

It’s between us and Leeds for second place I think.

Norwich have a soft road into the title form here, only a complete brain melt can stop them winning the league with their run in.

The next two weeks should be decisive.

I don’t mind the Leeds win. We know what we have to do on Monday now to keep up.

No more well if West Brom win it doesn’t matter what we do. Guilty of it myself

Well it's now looking a 3 horse race for 2 places. Every game for us and the other 2 is a cup final!

That looked like the Leeds from early season, very impressive, looked up for it and battled all over the pitch even at 3-0 up. WBA looked spent, I think our victory knocked 'em sideways.

Game on

Really mate? WBA are only 4 points of with 33 points available to them. Thats more than half as many again as theyve got.
Would you write us off in their position.
There's a long long way to go yet.

WBA were woeful last night, Livermore and Barry in midfield were slow, got over run , gave up possession, the 2 Centre half’s were crap, and up front the cheating pair of Gayle and Rodriguez were disinterested.Montero what’s he all about? Useless
We did that to the Baggies last weekend.
Leeds 4-0 is a great result for them, enjoy your night of glory because when we turn up at Elland Road it will be a different outcome.

Why are WBA and Boro out of it with 10 games left ? In racing terms were coming round the last bend with 10 fences still to jump.,plenty can happen still.

I hope all those who wanted Leeds to win are thrilled with tonight ... it never sits reyt with me when they win, and certainly not tonight.

I wanted a draw but if any team were to win, then I wanted Leeds to win so I’m fine with the result.

You should never judge a team based on one performance.
There’s still a lot of matches left, so it’s a series of performances that count.
And since Christman Leeds have been consistently underwhelming.

One result with a great performsnve changes nothing.
Leeds will need to string 3 or 4 performances like that before I start believing they can get auto promotion
But the recent evidence siggesrs they’ll go back to being at best a play-off team.

But you basing your judgement on ONE result/ performance, which is never the wisest thing to do.

Let’s not forget that last week they struggled to beat a very poor Bolton team
In fact for weeks Leeds have put in underwhelming displays
You find that consistently poor displays lead to poor results, they need to improve massively to get the auto’s. They have Bristol City away next week, let’s see how they do in that one and the next 3 or 4 before judging if they’ve suddenly found some form.

The reality with Leeds is if they play at 100 mph with massive intensity then they can blow any team away, however it’s impossible to keep up that intensity every match. When they lower their intensity then they are not as good as us or Norwich as a team.

I'm not basing it on one result at all. I'm basing it on all and sundry telling me how poor Leeds have been recently and yet they still sit top, as it stands. How can they be top if they've been so bad since Christmas?

Resilience, late wins and grinding out points from sub-par performances are the sign of a good team, not a bad one.

OK, so they put in underwhelming performances. Maybe they're now out of that slump with no permanent harm done to their season?

Well at least we know what's coming at us at Elland Road.
If they are that intense against West Brom it's going to be double that against us
We'll have to hope that Wilder has a cunning plan unlike Dave Bassett did the last time both clubs were in this position

I said in the shoutbox this 'Leeds are going to fade' narrative was bollocks. Who was it that shot me down?

Leeds aren't dropping off. Nor will our game at Elland Road be the cakewalk some are absurdly predicting.

To be fair to the people with that view. Before last night Leeds had lost 5 of their last 10 games and were about 14th in the form table so fully understand where they coming from.

We'll see how good they really are in a couple of weeks.

7 points off if we win on Monday. 5 if we draw. And I don't think we'll lose.

The manner of their defeats to us and Leeds and their manager being found out make me feel like they won't be a threat unless they sack him and quickly appoint a good impact manager - which they won't due to sentiment.

I think their belief's took a big knock and they don't have any sort of plan to compensate. They also have a few injuries.

They might have 33 to play for but they'll drop 6 at the very least, which gives them no more than 87 points. I can't see them ending on more than 85. I think 87 is our minimum.

If we can get to the Leeds game not needing to win I think we’ll do it.

The way this league is going I am definitely not writing off boro and west Brom , nor will I write us if we loose at pigs and Leeds
Long way still to go , Leeds last 2 results just show how bizarre this league is and how up and down teams are , as does our strange 8mins at villa !

That 4-0 thumping could have completely derailed our season,we were worse than West Brom that day,but we still got promoted.

Yes, although the team was a very hard working and honest bunch they did take a few hammerings that season, it either seemed to go well or it went horrendously badly, sounds daft to say we weren't consistent because we got promoted, but we really made hard work of it and never at any stage other than maybe half time at Leicester did people truly think it might be possible

I think that we got promoted because of the lack of expectation, there was very little pressure,we were just enjoying the ride, pity it's not like that this season,we are all too tense !!

Aye, lost 5-0 to West Ham too, didn't we? Weird.
