Is the Pigs increase in confidence (and arguably form) a blessing in disguise for us?

We tend to do better against teams who play abit more openly rather than the shite they served up at The Lane?

Don't worry, they have our tactics sussed out, flood the wide areas with pace and hit us on the break.....

Because WBA don't have pace on the wings :-/

Agreed .Pride before a fall and all that

We have a manager that won't let complacency be an issue. Reading was a perfect example of that, a team near the bottom, we didn't just turn up and do a job, we steamrollered them.

We have a squad now, where almost everyone is fighting for a spot in the starting lineup.

In the increased arrogance on here in regards to the Derby is quite alarming. Yes we are fucking good but we can’t allow any over confidence from anyone
A little bit of arrogance from the players isn't a bad thing. They are good, they know that. When we are attacking I want them to be arrogant, show how good you are. It's not only about who runs the most and passion.

The coaching staff only have to point to Rotherham away to show how it'll go if they don't put the work in defensively. And being in Sky, especially as the only match the players will be desperate to put a good performance in regardless of it being a derby.

And people on here can be as arrogant as they like. If we can't enjoy being good now, when can we?

This is a good a "team" as I have seen since the good old days of the late 60's.

A couple of weeks ago I was thinking it would have been a dilemma for Bruce as they would have been desperate not to lose and he saw us at our attacking best at 1st hand earlier in the season. So how would he have approached it. Now they have built in confidence, he probably thinks they have a chance and are probably going to be more attacking than they might have been. I think this is good for us, weather the (possible) storm or go for the kill as we usually do, either way should make for a better game and more chance of the better team coming out on top ;)

If we can't be confident, and perhaps a tad cocky about this team, we never fucking will be. Of course it will be a hard thought game but for goodness sake, they haven't beaten anyone who can be classed as a quality side since old cabbage face came in.
I am fairly sure that I know which team the neutrals will be backing in this one.

I don’t think wilder will allow any over confidence, ever. Regardless of the opponent

So as a supporter, it gives me more confidence that we will turn up and have a right go. It’s almost a given, there will be no hiding from any of our players. There never is.

I’m really happy that they’re starting to play a bit better, it gives them fewer excuses if we do beat them.

I’m probably the most relaxed about the Sheffield derby since we played them and Jamie Ward ran them ragged.

There’s lots to be confident about, but it’s still a derby.

Interesting that piggy mates of mine who’ve been quiet for a long time are starting to give it the big un this week. Not wise given how good we’ve become, but I’ve just responded with the stock line “well hopefully you won’t park the bus again”

A draw will do for me, but a win would be fantastic. A win by a big score line again, even better

One thing that concerns me is their pace, down the left although they've lost half of that with the injury to Lazaar....the Wednesday players have raised their game for the last two derbies at our place and we haven't.

For this reason my preference if fit would be to go for Baldock although Freeman dealt with Phillips we didn't stop Holgates crossing (his crossing was just useless) and Fletcher is a much bigger threat in the air than Gayle was.

But that means nowt at the end of the day, just ask any bookmaker. I'm trying to approach this game as level headed as I can be and I'm still shitting myself. Given the past few derbies, it wouldn't surprise me to see a score draw.

If by 'raised their game' you mean 'ten men behind the ball with little to no intention of attacking', then yes they did.

They have to come at us at home. They simply have to. Fans will expect it. On paper we have enough in our defence to deal with them but, and forgive the cliche, owt can and does happen in these games. Just as they expected to floor us when we beat them 4-2, our fans shouldn't expect to wipe the floor with them because of where we are.

Wilder won't allow for an inch of complacency. We're going to have to work our tits off for the victory as they won't want their little run to come to an end in a derby in front of their own. It could get tasty...

Yes they are better than last time. Hard to be worse. But there isn't a single Wednesday fan who acknowledges that we are better than we were in the first game as well. It's going to be interesting

Rodriguez in the air > Fletcher. And we dealt ok with that. Gayle was out wide for some crazy reason

I would guess that IF we were in their position (thank god we aren't) after an improved run of form and just 6 points off a play off spot we would be more optimistic -- however they only realistically have ONE place to aim at Bristol City who also have a game in hand on them AND there are 6 teams in front of them not just one !
Possible ? Yes
Realistic ? No
Guaranteed in Pig world ? Yes !!!!

Really hoping that Baggies can beat Leeds. This takes the pressure right off us and perish the thought remainnsecond and motivated to Hell as per the villa game if we lose. As wilder has said nailing the 6 points against millers and Brentford more important slip ups to avoid. Nevertheless Blades this season don't let you down and no reason to think we will not put in a performance and get the result we deserve on Monday.

Draw is preferable. I'd rather two of our promotion rivals dropped points even it it meant we temporarily drop down to third.
