Ca't say I particlary agree with you. Regardless of whether he inherited the players or not, he's still managing a club with a high wage bill.

I also think it's a bit of a myth that he "only had a bit to play with" - he's signed 11 players (either loans or permanent), plenty of which will be costly, on big salaries. Their wage bill last year was £38m (to put that into perspective that was double ours) and based on their transfer dealings, I can't see that figure being reduced by much, if at all.
Other than Birmingham (who have breached FFP), no club without parachute payments are spending close to the amount they are.

How do new managers get a chance when clubs keep going back to out of work managers such as Big Sam,Pardew etc

No problem with SG or FL getting their chances as decent sized clubs. I do have respect for ex players who try and build a career from the lower leagues thou. I think if Sol Campbell stops Macclesfield from getting relegated he will have done a better job than if FL gets Derby to the play offs

You’ve got more respect for serial quitter Bruce? One of the most disloyal managers in the game? Of the so called ‘golden generation’ Lampard was one of the least offensive. Worked incredibly hard to get to where he was. Genuinely unsure why so much hatred.

CW didn’t have to start at Broadway, he wanted to. He was doing it when he played for us. It was a bit of fun for him. His first proper job was Alfreton. However, if you said Lampard should have started lower down or spent more time as a coach before stepping up to the manager role, I wouldn’t disagree.

wrong term of phrase - they were close to their limit from the previous 3 assessment periods but with cutting spending this year and lowering the wage bill - they will create more capacity for the following year - they also sold Vydra for £11 mil offsetting a lot of their trf fee spending this year.

I would agree he has a massive wage budget - the majority inherited though - so DC yes massive wage budget

Problem Gerrard will have is that being Dinner up to Celtic in Scotland is considered a failure. Might get away with it this season but not next season
