Ca't say I particlary agree with you. Regardless of whether he inherited the players or not, he's still managing a club with a high wage bill.
I also think it's a bit of a myth that he "only had a bit to play with" - he's signed 11 players (either loans or permanent), plenty of which will be costly, on big salaries. Their wage bill last year was £38m (to put that into perspective that was double ours) and based on their transfer dealings, I can't see that figure being reduced by much, if at all.
Other than Birmingham (who have breached FFP), no club without parachute payments are spending close to the amount they are.
It’s the wages rather than the trf fees that are the most limiting ... I think he will do better once some high earners are released and he’s targeted his own players and bought them in.
