Away games = Sharp and Madine with Dowell in behind. At times, I'd possibly use Hogan if the opponent is playing a high line.

Home games = Sharp and Mcgoldrick with Duffy in behind. Alternatively, Mcgoldrick in place of Duffy and Madine in place of Goldie.When winning the game we can throw on Dowell and Hogan on to finish teams off on the counter attack.
We have an abundance of riches, the away set up has already shown us the counter attacking threat posed by Dowell, combined with Madine's hold up play when a quicker ball into his feet/chest..

I agree with the 'horses for courses' approach. I'd swap McGoldrick and Madine about with Hogan coming in whenever Billy needs a rest.

Given a decent run of pitch time, Hogan will be much more influential, effective and important to us than many are seeing right now.

He is not an habitual substitute.

Its the strongest forward line we have had in years, whichever combo plays there are goals in it. Last time we had 4 genuine quality goal scorers all vying for a start was Deane/Fjortoft/Saunders/Marcelo. And if we hadn't sold Deane/Fjortoft on the same day we would have gone up that year. Thank fuck the window has closed.

We also had Gareth Taylor, Katchouro and Andy Walker(?) It was like premium Warnock before Warnock and his hoarding of strikers was a thing.

Anyway, completely agree! All four are different and they can all perform at this level. The most important thing now is that we can change things up, go for a plan B and or rest players (see Reading).

We had something similar when we started the 05/06 season. Warnock would often switch or sub between Kabba/Shipperley and Webber/Pericard. Think that was probably the last time we had depth that actually performed.

Probably the last time we really had an abundance of quality up front was when on paper Robson in 07/08 had Beattie, Sharp, Shelton, Hulse, Webber, Stead and if you count Horsefield. But as we know, it didn't happen.

It's a new habit he's formed this season having had Brucie boy and Deano consistently leave him out of the team.

Definitely a good player but it's one of Sharp/Hogan with one of Madine/McGoldrick as a starting pairing for me. No matter how much Wilder hates Sharp and wants to sell him he should still be playing more games than the others based on his goal return this season. I can't see Sharp and Hogan together getting much of a try for the rest of the season.

I went for Sharp and Madine as i think that at this time of the season we will need to start with more physicality.

Having McG and Hogan on the bench is a hell of a bench

Many seem to think this but I'm not sure why. We have been doing fine without the added physicality of Madine, and although having a plan B is clearly a good thing, why should it replace our plan A just because we are at 'this time of the season' - it's just another 90 minutes.

Is his match fitness good enough?

Would his pace have been that effective against a fast Pigs defence?

I think he'll start against Brentford.
