Interesting terms, absolutely crap and incredibly lazy at the same time.

I'm no Hendo hater but what you are saying is that he has been more effective then Hendo while being crap and not trying. Whereas Hendo has been working his backside off with lesser results. From this you have decided that what we need to do to move forward is sell the younger, more effective player and stick with the trier who is producing less.

Nope, I'm saying exactly what I'm saying after watching a lazy, very poor footballer strolling around doing eff all whilst playing for my team and getting paid royally for it.
Anyone who really believes Evans has contributed more than Hendo this season needs their bumps feeling.

Didn't a lot of people say similar things about BT being lazy?

It's all a matter of opinion - one fan's view of a striker standing still is that he's a lazy over-paid git who needs to work harder - the second fan sees a classy player timing his run to beat the offside trap.

Football - don'tcha luv it? :)

You missed out scoring and creating goals though Len.

Apart from scoring 3 in 8 starts, (a better return then any other of our forwards), and also being the forward with the most assists he's done eff all.

I'd probably agree with that.

The only problem is that Henderson's main movement is sticking his hand in the air. A few runs into space wouldn't go amiss

He has absolutely carried the forward line on his own whenever the invisible man has played up front alongside him.
He goes for the ball, Evans is usually nowhere near it just chilling out about 50 yards away.
At least Sharp would put some effort in but Evans isn't even doing that.
If a rocket up him doesn't do the trick he should be out in January and he can go and stroll around the pitch somewhere else.
The comparison with his attitude on coming into the team and that of the less heralded Ward says everything you need to know about him.

I should know better than dignifying your post with a response but what about Richard Cresswell?

(Hopefully I'm too young for you to bully me  )

Very harsh re dignified bit! - I just feel a bit uncomfortable about it. Fair point though. Not my greatest shout ever I must admit, especially having watched the useless Pig on Tuesday.

He scored 32 goals in only 17 games one season and 60 in 22 another, now thats what I call a good record! :D And 10 goals in 0 games too, genius!

And when we signed Jamie Ward?

A Large number of fans called him a panic buy and not good enough.

I don't recall that. I recall a lot of fans thinking that was a very sensible buy.
Young player, bit of a reputation, bit of pace, not expensive etc.

Because they were promised a ready made replacement.

Maybe so, but he is young and certainly wasn't a has been, yet was met with the same opinion from many....

Until he scored against the pigs.

Some did, me included.

However, many more thought the opposite.

I think a lot were just disappointed with the signing after chasing Lita with a '7 figure offer' to be presented with a league two striker.

I think overall they were happy to let him have his chance though, which he has duly taken.

I still don't think he is a prolific striker though at this level, but his work ethic and pace give us a very good option.

I didn't know anyone who was disappointed with signing Ward at all.
They might have been disappointed we hadn't bought someone else as well but definitely not the signing of Ward per se.

Tony Agana 'I think having an automatic first choice is crazy'

yeah you're dead right lets spend another £3m on a bench warmer/fringe player

So having Michael Copra, that would be really crazy as he'd be an automatic first choice ?

You're taking it out of context.

Yes there might be people you'd assume to be in the starting XI, but if they're off form you'd hope they'd be dropped ala Sharp rather than remain a first choice ala SQuinn

Not what I said. Having one player whose name is printed on the team sheet where everyone else's is in pencil is damaging. Competition for places is a huge asset - ask ANY football manager - and making one player a permanent fixture on the team sheet eliminates one of the places to fight for.

Im talking about since pre season, which was when this policy was announced. The signing of young players who would have a sell on value & would grow with the team. this sounds like poppycock to me when you look through the team now. Can someone find the average age of our first team squad NOT including loans? I bet its amongst the highest in the league. (27/28)

Found out today that he actually failed the medical but Blackie wanted to go through with the deal regardless.

Sounds like a touch of panic setting in.

We wouldn't be able to get him insured if that was the case.
