I've posted a similar comment on another thread and all afternoon I've been going over and over it in my head and I'd appreciate your input.
A lot of people are saying that the result on friday could put a massive dent in our confidence, I disagree with that, in fact i think the opposite is true, but what's not being mentioned is that it could be a massive confidence boost to Aston villa who have still to play 7 of the teams vying for promotion with 5 of those games at villa park, and with their talisman Grealish set to return they could have a massive say in who goes up.
I've also been going through the fixtures of the other teams in the top 10 and they all have games against other contenders, but on any given Saturday the championship is notoriously difficult to predict, is it impossible for Leeds to lose at deepdale or Norwich to lose at Brentford,
Of course not, so promotion isn't just about what we do, its about what other teams do, in fact at this stage of the season it's probably more about what others do.

My worry(ies) is/are Aston Villa and WBA.

I feel that WBA will finish top 2 which leaves Leeds and Norwich fighting us for the remaining spot. I also think that Aston Villa will be the team to make the late surge for the Play Offs and if they do so, feel they will be the team to be careful of when in the Play Offs.

My prediction is this:
  1. WBA
  2. Norwich
  3. Leeds
  4. Blades
  5. Derby
  6. Aston Villa
With Leeds or Villa going up

Also this season every point we've won and every goal we've scored has been fought for, there's been maybe 2 games where we've been second best, all the other games we've dominated even the ones we've dropped points in, were still creating lots of chances and scoring lots of goals
in fact we haven't had much luck, but our second goal on friday was lucky it was given, maybe that luck is changing.

I'm not so sure about West Brom. I watched them last week against Brighton, admittedly a Premiership team, but they didn't really create much. They certainly don't possess the fluidity of our game.

Gibbs and Barry were both missing but even so it seemed a strong side they fielded.

Barry Gibb? When did he sign?

If it was a d taxi, what I said wouldn't actually exist

You could console yourself with an Elev8 Drink, they're Sugar Free you know..............

We could be out of the top 6 in 3 weeks once the teams who need a few games to catch up to 31 win, if we lose to borough I think we can call it done.

Think I’d go with that prediction too.
However the 2 teams difficult to predict are us and West Brom, think Norwich are defnitely top 2.

On paper West Brom are exceptionally strong but they are struggling to impress anyone, even their own fans aren’t confident and would settle for a play-off spot, they think they don’t think they have any chance of top 2. Also they have the least experienced manager coaching them and when there’s pressure experience does count.

The other team is us because we ARE very consistent and always have good spells dominating the opposition home and away. We are so close to going on a 7 match winning steak but we’re also close to picking up loads of draws too. Wilder has it right, our success will be all down to whether we took the ball away and with Sharp, McGoldrick, Hogan and Madine we have loads of goal potential.
Part of me thinks it’s us and Norwich for top 2.

So what your saying is anything could happen and it probably will.

“Anything could happen in the next half hour”

I appreciate what you’re saying but I’d rather us concentrate on our own game and do the business ourselves, relying on others to help us out is not the way to go. No doubt a few dodgy results to help us out along the way wouldn’t go amiss.

I don’t rate Villa to get in the playoffs either, even with that twat with the greaseball hair.

No, it's absolutely about what we do. That is the ONLY thing we are in control of.
Whatever happens elsewhere happens, good or bad. We might like some of it, we might not, but we can do sweet FA about it so no point worrying about results between other teams.
When it comes to our games if we win them all we'll piss it, whilst that's the case, all good.

HMS Piss the league is making as much progress as the Bismark when it got it's rudder fucked.

Of course HMS Sheffield (the original 'Shiny Sheff') was much involved in the hunt.

I'm sure there's some sort of sign there but I'm buggered if I know what.

I think our ability to collapse when we have a chance to get a foothold will be our downfall.

1. Blades
2. Sister Shaggers
3. Dirties
4. Kipper Ties

The rest are anybody's guess but , regrettably , won't include our less fortunate brethren from S6 , much as I'd love to see them fuck it up in the play offs again .

I don't think that villa will get into the playoffs either but I've a feeling they're going to take valuable points from our rivals
