That’s one I have no recollection of at all. James Thomas?Twiss was signed on loan by Steve Bruce. You are thinking of James Thomas who scored the winner against Preston but it wasnt a 30 yard belter, he ran onto a long pass before hitting a low shot

Ah that'll be the age catching up - or more likely the shed load of Stones' at the Lion before kick off!Twiss was signed on loan by Steve Bruce. You are thinking of James Thomas who scored the winner against Preston but it wasnt a 30 yard belter, he ran onto a long pass before hitting a low shot
Morrison's replacement when he went off with that injury? James Thomas!Just checked and Morrison didn’t play that day. Curle was skipper! Morrison suffered a career ending injury when on loan at us ive also learnt!
Barrington Edward Hayles managed 4 appearances and no goals for us.
I seem to remember him scewing his instep over the top of a ball and stopping it dead when trying to pass it into a relatively unguarded goal.
We had Morrison in 2003, Thomas came to us in 2000Morrison's replacement when he went off with that injury? James Thomas!

What about your avatar man Mr LonghornJohn Egan
Unforgettable. The recurring nightmares mean the memory of him (and Nicky Johns) will never go away. For those 'fortunate' to be at a certain game at the sty boxing day 1979..
Derek Richardson and we paid 60k for him (lot of cash then)
Ack, I nearly said David Healy scored on his Preston debut that day, but I thought I was getting cocky with too much info and you'd pick me up on a mistake! That match really sticks, for some reason.
Some thoughts on that clip (I also watched the 2-0 in the previous match):
David Kelly was an underrated player for us. Well taken goals and two well-won penalties.
Bobby Ford was a hell of a penalty taker.
Paul Devlin in full flight was an absolute joy. So productive on his day.
That Preston game nicely punctures the myth that Brown was nothing before his famous breakout season. He had in fact put in plenty of MOTM performances before that.
Michael Boulding came on loan from villa i think.
Debut goal v Swindon Town , opening game of 79 80 at the Lane. The immortal Duggie Brown
Billy!Who the fook is that? He looks like ex Villa and Derby manager John Gregory's love child.
Has there ever been a biggish football club that has never played non league football had so many non league players play for it
