“I think he had a purple spell where the design of the team, confidence and manager’s faith all aligned for him to do well"

Sounds like he needs the kind of team where a 16 club, 30+ year-old journeyman can score 19 Championship goals in a season. A team smashing all expectations on a humble budget whilst playing energetic, exciting football.

This could be good. This could be very good indeed.

cheers Roy
from watching his goals and reading those thoughts , i think he could really flourish in our team

his movement and pace and with our players who can produce excellent through balls etc he could be a great signing

with Goldie , Sharp , madine and now the Hulk, (and Washington) , we have great options

just please , no one from our midfield/ defence go anywhere today !

When I went to Brentford ,almost every fan I met was sound ,knowledgable and perceptive. The ones with access to computers are bell ends.
I think its changed over the last couple of years since they had a couple of decent seasons. They seemed knowledgeable online before this.

However, you're bang right, they're a decent and knowledgeable fans when you meet them

For every McGoldrick and Clarke, there's also a Ryan Leonard with regard to Chris' signings. I'm not criticising, he gets it right many more times than not, but like Leonard, he's pursued Hogan for some time now.

We should remember that at the moment, McG and Billy are in the driving seats, so unless they get injured or have a big drop off in form, Hogan will not be a starter. What's good is that it gives us better options in the squad. I can't see Washington getting much game time now and wouldn't be surprised to see him leave either today or the end of the season.

To be fair I don't give a @@@@ what they think ( no offence Roy) What I do know is we couldn't have got a better player to come in and back up Billy and be ready to replace him in the event of injury, suspension or loss of form.

Hes a big uptick on Washington and its a masterstroke by the management team to get him from a promotion rival.

Cheers Roy. Looks as though he could do a job for us if he gets the service.
Don’t really read much into opposing fans comments as they’re rarely complimentary. UTB

Showed really good physicality at BL for Villa in the first half last season.

Id have preferred a midfielder to compete with Fleck and Norwood but Hogan is a good signing for not much. UTB

Wilders record this season with signings is bang on

Henderson - excellent
Egan - collossus
Norwood - one of the best in his position in the division
Didsy - turned him into a crucial cog in the system

Woodburn - didn’t work but who wouldn’t sign a Liverpool ‘wonderkid’ on loan when given the chance?

Madine and Hogan - multimillion pound players not too long ago, I think they’ll both prove to be good additions.

Don’t need their opinions. I’ve seen him play on a number of occasions. He’s lively, can run the channels, has a poacher’s instinct and is a good finisher under pressure. If he gets a run in the team he will score goals and can probably play alongside all of our strikers.

Signing him is a no brainier. He makes us even more dangerous than we were.

Plenty of attaching options on the books now, knowing Wilder I wouldn’t be surprised to see all four on the pitch at once at some point.

Thank you as ever Roy.
Similar comments were made about Sharp, Clarke when we got promoted regarding not being good enough for the league & more recently McG when we signed him at the start of the season. With the likes of Norwood, Duffy & Fleck to slot passes through and hopefully McG to allow Hogan to play off him, I think he could be an excellent addition. Makes you wonder where Madine fits in though with now 2 strikers vying to take Sharp & McG's place in the starting eleven

Hopefully signing Hogan will improve Duffy's fitness efficiency. Instead of having to dribble all over the place to create openings, and thus wearing himself out, he can just make pin point through balls for the pacey Hogan to latch onto. Same goes for Dowell.

Wilder = Genius
