For automatic promotion? Defence OK and well covered I think, maybe another wing back on loan as cover?

Midfield is well stocked but we don't have that replacement for Fleck who's struggling a bit now, would love to sign someone like Leroy Fer.

Upfront looks OK but no pace, do we need it? Probably someone who can stretch the opposition back line with pace and movement and chip in with a few goals.

So for me a midfield general, a WB as cover and a pacey striker to compliment the existing excellent forward line.

We are not a million miles away so I hope McCabe and Abdullah release a few more quid this month.

More depth in midfield / up front would be nice, but honestly in the short term I don’t think we need much if anything. We’re already one of the best teams in the league, it’s just a case of executing now (and avoiding injuries / bad luck).

I’d take Ruben Neves on loan though if you’re offering.

I agree, but I think loans in this window is the best way to go about it, negotiate a permanent in the summer depending on division. Think it allows us to get better quality as well.

BELIEF AND CONFIDENCE.
We seem to have 100% belief when playing the also rans but probably only 50-60% belief when playing the better teams. I don't know what it is but somebody needs to tell them that we are also one of the better teams

When attacking we can outplay anybody, we don't always score the goals we should, but we are a match for anybody when we play with belief and confidence going forward.
Hopefully after today we can go to places like Aston Villa and West Brom and play the home game against Middlesboro with the attitude that we are every bit as good as they are

A right wing back, a RCB, a proper defensive midfielder for those tough away games and a goalscorer who can stretch defenders.

But to put it simply: for the amount that we would use them we simply cannot expect top class players to come in in those positions They know they’ll be bit part unless injury strikes apart from maybe the striker. The team is settled - we have to go with what we have now unless we can convince said striker. Additions in other areas are unlikely.

Got slated on the shoutbox this pm but I saw brizzol city v Bolton last night and Kasey Palmer who city have signed on loan from Chelski is just the sort of player we’re missing IMO. Bolton had an 18 y.o Luca Connell making his debut in midfield and he looked very good (MOM for them and looks like Luca Modric !)

We may have to go with what we have - what we do have is a front 5 that are interchangeable.

We took the game to a good footballing team on their own patch today.

Top 2 is quite simple - win at home, don't lose away.

We might lose some, but if we approach the games like we did today, we have as good a chance as any of the top six.

I wouldn't mind one of those. I just wonder how often we'd use such a player.

Brad Potts would've been the best shout. Barnsley gave him away to PNE where he's already scored twice.

I also wouldn't mind a quality RWB who can play LWB and a pacy, tricky striker who's good enough to play more than 5 minutes. Fuck knows who.
