I was impressed by Stiepperman and Hernandez at Norwich yesterday. Stieppeman is a big strong lad who strode through our defence and was a real handful. Hernandez was small and tricky with pace and dribbling skills causing havoc on the flanks.

These type of players cause problems to teams and I’d like some of those qualities in our team. But realistically I think we will be pretty much relying on what we have, and what we have is very good tbf.

Well looking at the stats from Saturday we had 17 shots with 3 on target compared to Norwich’s 7 and 5......another striker or shooting practice. Always had concerns that our shots on goal to chances created ratio didn’t really match.

A striker who can produce something out of nothing on his own when we’re not playing well, turning defeats into draws or bore draws into 1-0 wins. That’s not disrespect to our forwards but if they don’t get much service, we don’t score.

But they don’t tend to go for our kind of budget.

This is what I have believed for a long time now, however like you say the budget would be the issue so I would just take someone half decent with pace.

So difficult to pin point given the way we play.

1) I think the obvious is RWB. Love Baldock. Committed, 100% player. If he had Freeman’s end product he’d be touching Premier League quality. Just watching Obel Hernandez on Saturday, I think that’s what you’d get.

2) Maybe a Lundstram with ability, Kevin McDonald has been mentioned. The way we play is quite complex though so our midfielders do have to hang back a bit if the centre halves are bombing forward, so a box to box midfielder could leave us very exposed at times.

3) Another Billy Sharp. Possibly the Hogan in for Clarke swap that is rumoured. On paper it’s a good move but Hogan has not played much this season.

Apart from that and without suggesting players out of our reach, I think we’re as strong as we can be.

Cover/Competition all down the left hand side of the field . Given Bryan, seems a long wayway f ready and there doesn't seem to be a lot of confidence in Johnson, a serious injury to OConnell, Fleck or Stevens, could cause us a lot of problems.
