Can hear the 'Cod Army' roar from his back garden
Summer 2021, seems a relatively big commitment for another of our 30 somethings. Can't argue he's done well but it's a strange one given where the management want to be in that period.

He has but this is his level IMO, he's not clinical enough and that's where we need to improve.Well deserved, been a fantastic asset to the team. Actually think he could do ok in the Premiership as well should we get there.
Fully agree. I have been one of his biggest advocates since he arrived, but even I must agree that IF we get into the Prem, we might only get once chance per match and that needs to be taken... Is he the man to stick it away more times than not..? I'm not so sureHe has but this is his level IMO, he's not clinical enough and that's where we need to improve.
Maybe but we had the option of another year anyway as far as I know so we've basically extended it now for a further year on top of that, presumably on better wages as well.Seems likely his agent would’ve asked for the longer contract; with other clubs apparently sniffing around, the onus was probably on us to make an attractive offer.
Or look at it this, he's now worth a bit more.Summer 2021, seems a relatively big commitment for another of our 30 somethings. Can't argue he's done well but it's a strange one given where the management want to be in that period.

Yep, just checked, from SUFC;Are you sure about the option? I hadn’t heard that.

As mentioned, we already had an option to extend for next season so why not see where we are in 4 months time?So were definitely going up then are we? Tying Didsy down for another few years would be worth it should it not happen then eh?
A view to an extension is not an option to extend ,if option was written into contract that would be a different kettle of fish. Are you sure about the option? I hadn’t heard that.

Chris Wilder has bolstered his attacking options with the signing of David McGoldrick, following a successful trial period at the club.
The free-agent, formerly of Ipswich Town, has put pen-to-paper on an initial one-year deal at Bramall Lane, although there is a view to an extension.
Also says that in Foxy's thread so must be true![]()
Fair enough, it does seem strange wording."A view to an extension" doesn't necessarily mean we had the ability to unilaterally impose an extra year on his contract.
In any case, I'm just quibbling now. I think he's earned the deal and if other teams are interested I think we may have been under pressure to get something signed. Fair play to Didsy, who probably feels he hasn't had quite the career (or earnings) his talent deserves. But I do see why people would ask whether this length of contract makes sense for a player of his age.
Usually the opposite for meI’m so excited I can’t piss straight.![]()
What this does probably mean is Leon/Conor/Ched will be on their way this Summer.
