Not long after listening to the latest BBC interview and hearing Wilder's thoughts on looking forward and remaining focused on getting promoted, I saw this video about fans discussing the top 6 and their favorite 3 to be promoted.

It's understandable other fans think we'll fizzle out but it just shows how much other fans really don't give us much credit for our performances these last couple of years even though they were complimentary of Wilder. With us being a bit of a surprise package to those outside of the fanbase I thought they would've given more opinions on us.

Who do you think will take the automatic places and win the play-offs now the season has developed? I would also like to hear your opinions on potential dark horses to finish top 6.

Dirtys
WBA

Boro
Blades
Norwich
Bristol City

FLDC will just miss out I think

here we go again.

We are where we are on merit
There isn't a Wolves team this season.
No one is looking like definite top 2.
Plenty of games to go.
If there was ONE manager out of the top 8 clubs to push this team into top 2 then it's CW.

It's Norwich NEXT isn't it?

Interesting pick with Bristol City, a lot of people are tipping Hull and Swansea to come for the top 6 due to Hull's form and Swansea's pedigree but I've not heard many people give BC a chance even though they've been fairly consistent this season.

Completely agree, I was just looking to provoke some discussion and see if anyone fancied a dark horse really.

Perfect, give us a great chance to stick two fingers up to all those fans if/when we do well. An automatic place I think will just evade us this season. Leeds look good and have a habit of scoring late goals which is a great trait to have. West Brom could very well claim that second spot, their goal difference thus far is the best in the league, if they work out how to grind out wins then they'll be tough to beat. I can see us finishing 3rd/4th unless we can go on an exceptional run. By my reckoning we need 40 points, from 54 available. Not undoable but will be very tough, starting with Norwich tomorrow. This would see us finish with 90 points which over the last 10 years, would have seen 5x 1st place, 2x 2nd place and 3x 3rd place. Pretty much a race to 90 points it seems with some very tough games to win to get there with Norwich, Leeds, Boro, W Brom all to play.

no prob - it's not your post - it's just this continuing where we've come from, who we are, what we are doing now and the blind "big club" bias of other idiot supporters.

It's only about the here and now and more importantly - where WE go. CW will take care of us - fuck the rest.

100% mate

Spotty kids and a lad with a beard to hide his spots.

Mainkly talking bollocks over each other, so I gave up after 2 minutes.

The post isn't as much about the video as it is about a top 6 discussion, it's just the video that prompted me to make a post.

Fair enough and posting something new is fine. It's just a personal grumpy old man thing, but I couldn't get on with the inane prattling. The start with all the squeaky voices talking over one another did it for me, so I never made the discussion.

Keep on posting stuff though. Not everyone is a dull old fart like myself.

Really well balanced group there representing the south of the country..

Showing their age btw, going for pulis because it’s a safer bet.. reality check, when your watching children who haven’t shaved yet explain to you weather famous manager at derby will sneak into the play offs and beat famous manager pulis you have to question what they’re thinking..

Thinking about the past and picking a safe bet based on names... these kids would have pulled Leicester to pieces all season as they went on to win...

I’ll quote Harry “it’s in our hands” what we do will define our season..

I actually quite liked the video - like ISC says, it’s generally kids talking bollocks and this video shouldn’t work, but i was actually interested to listen to it and It’s good to hear fans talking about something different to the usual big 6 etc.

One of them is the Bolton fan who does the ‘vlogs’ of their games and did one when they came to Bramall Lane...

I thought I recognized one of them, must've been why it came up in my recommended.

We could be 6 points clear of 3rd with one game to go and people would still write us off. I saw a PNE fan on Twitter saying their team is no worse than ours. Also saw a Forest fan saying their squad is miles better. It’s proper pissing people off how good we are.

I'm happy for us to fly under the radar, some fans still think of us as a route one team.

It really is difficult to predict but I certainly wouldn’t slate other fans for thinking we’ll fizzle out, similar to Norwich maybe (not too sure of their squad).

But if we had the squad that WBA, Boro, Leeds, Villa, Stoke and Derby (to a point) had then we would be wondering how on earth the Blades were sitting 4th and probably not be too concerned about us pushing the top 2.

It’s a remarkable achievement it really is, but now the expectation has risen, we’ll be disappointed if we fade from the top 2 race and be very very disappointed if we don’t get in the top 6.

A better analysis I think, if a bit long winded...

They still don't fancy us for top 2 but you always feel Benjamin Bloom knows what he's on about

I rate his opinions more than some pundits, truly has a passion for the Championship.

Av bin gunna lane fo fifty year. an this young whipper snappers du some numbers and think thi nowital.
Let mi tell thee, this no subditute fo experyence. Befo tha noseit, sum bugger will deside every club shud av a foram to natter abart this stuff.

Under another manager I could see how we could become a victim of our own success due to the expectations we're setting. With Wilder it seems more than coincidence and he brings something special that money can't buy.

Imo - the reason we are underestimated (and this isn’t really a bad thing imo) is:

- our fall off post coutts last year
- lack of a real signature result against the top 6 away.

We’ve been beaten away by derby, got smashed by boro, forest, Leeds and lost at home to wba and Leeds again.

Our main scalp after derby is that we beat Norwich when they were in a poor run and not on peoples minds as potential top 2

Imo that analysis would chance if we make a statement on Saturday and best Norwich. That would be a real statement for the rest of the season and confidentce boost.

That said we have a lot of the bottom half left at home and if we take the expected points from those games - the away results won’t be a be all and end all.

I had a look at the fixtures and most of the top 4 still have ~4 to play vs the top 6.
We also have yet to play the bottom 6 all at home, these can be potential banana skins since they're fighting for their lives but they're bottom for a reason.

I think it's unfair to look at the fixture list without looking at the other team's fixtures also, but I do stand by the Clichés you have to take each game as they come and you can only beat what is put in front of you.

We haven't played Leeds away.
