Well he won and brought down for others most balls that came towards him in the short time he was on.

What he should have done, was grow another 5 feet, chested them down and smashed them into the top corner.

Did well for me. I think he won the vast majority of the balls hit to him. He did what was asked - win the long balls and knock on anything that you can. Midfield, for whatever reason, went missing in the second half and Madine offered an alternate option to what was playing out to be a frustrating stalemate.

It happened when we signed the big lad from Bradford and I hope it’s not a sign of things to come but we aimlessly lumped it go Madine.

We’d had a good first half and second half they changed it, got their goal (which was coming) and we then reacted. Great

Madine and Dowell on, shape changed and we got control back again as they sat in.

But why change our play completely? Like The Vicar said, the balls needed to come from the byline.

What was the point bringing Dowell on if we were going to bypass him and Norwood? We stopped getting in behind them and overloading them, instead pumping the ball for Madine to knock down, which is something we haven’t done in all but a handful of games in the last couple of years
