Hanson was bought to weaken Bradford, by taking Madine we are strengthening Cardiff, who aren't even in the same division as us. Do you watch football?

No, he doesn't, he scores very few and creates even less.

Record for Cardiff - 0 Goals, 1 missed penalty, 4 missed open goals, very few shots on target, wins fewer than half his aerial battles, an assist every 7 and a half games.

1. He's a total dreg of society. Not the kind of guy you want your kids to look up to.
2. He's a poor footballer.

Not at all what we are looking for.

I get the bit about kids and wanting them to look up to someone but ultimately I want players for United to be a success as footballers and he's done his time as has Ched when we had similar comments when he signed. I want a centre forward to score goals, first and foremost rather than be a good role model and my son can watch Madine and admire Madine for how he plays (hopefully) and nothing else. I recall Carl Bradshaw bit a taxi drivers finger off once in the past but he was still loved by us because he gave us all and he is a Blade. Madine's decided he wants to play for us, that's good enough for me, unless he jumps into the crowd and lamps someone then I think we'll be fine with Madine playing for us.

Clean slate and all that, but he needs to get off to a good start if he's going to have a chance here, and with his lack of football this season, that'll be difficult. He's not going to get the benefit of the doubt that other new signings would. A few poor games/missed chances and it'll be (even more) toxic.

Ah balls, the top of the post was supposed to mention about when we signed James Hanson
Ah. Got it. That explains the strange use of the past tense in the opening sentences. Thought I'd gone into a coma on hearing of theMadine signing and had woken up four months later.

It was evident against Barnet that we lacked any Ariel threat so mebbe Calgon is being brought in to address this issue. We will have to Persilvere and Surf the wave to see if he can Dazzle the opposition. At the end of the day it's a Bold move by the club and let's hope he can improve his strike rate to 3 in 1 and leave us all in Comfort

Could you put this in somwhere? Just a thought, ta.

Can't say I'm cartwheeling at the news, but he spoke well in his interview and he's definitely not taken the easy option by coming here! So GLTTL, hope he does a great job for us and justifies both CW's faith in him and the faith he's placed in himself.

Hope he stays off the pop, he's clearly a shit drunk!

I love him.

Said that right things. Balls of steel. GLTTL
You love him.
Really?
Seems a bit OTT.
Have you always loved him, or has this passion recently developed?

I ask because a lot of people think he is an utter oxygen thief. You may even have noticed the controversy surrounding him?

Hope you enjoy that warm fuzzy feeling for a long long time.

What a load of shit. Take it you’re confusing Hanson with when we signed Horsefield to stop Leeds signing him?
Did Horsfield (you got his name wrong) sign from Bradford? You seem more than a little confused, you shouldn't post again you aren't getting anything right.

I know summat.....He’s got massive bollocks and the skin of a fookin rhino coming ere
I’m giving him a chance after my initial less than complimtry reaction.
As he says in his post signing blurb all those crosses we put in are made for him

UTB.

This signing says everything about how relatively poor we are - which is the real issue the club has to tackle if it wants to compete at this level. We are desperate for new ownership.

Putting the baggage aside, given the level of our resource, this is a good signing that fills a gap in our forward firepower.

Weirdo!

Are you purposely trying to piss us off to divide us further?

Fuck You United - not worthy of our support! You’ve just stupidly made a rod for your own back.

Wilder, you are a total hypocrite. All this talk of vetting players to make sure that they have a sound character. You’ve ripped up your own principles showing that it was all talk in the first place!

Fucking booooooooooo from the first whistle to the last!
I’m the weirdo? Strange coming from you, Mr ‘I don’t want to get promoted this way’.

Some Blade you are.

I thought we loaned McNulty to weaken them?

Hanson scored 1 goal when we went up, was still a vital part of the jigsaw at the end. Madine scored 10 for Bolton who are probably the least creative team in the league....take away all the baggage he's not a bad signing at all.

Yes, he did. He went through a good spell but he played nearly every minute of those games in a system that was set-up purely to feed him. Incidentally, half of those goals were penalties. He scored five from open play in 28 games with 5 assists. The season before played 32 with 5 goals and 1 assist.

There'll be a lot of 'Championship James Hanson' comments but he's better than that. He is a good player, despite everything, and you'll struggle to find a better target man at this level.

He can be very useful for us, there's no doubt about it.

There will also be a lot of talk about him being an impact sub.... nah, sorry. Maybe to start with, but Wilder has a more prominent role in mind for him than that.
But I have doubts about his suitability in our team. Because he'd have to be playing with Sharp, and are those two really a pairing? When has Billy excelled with a target man? He's better with a link player like McGoldrick.

I hope he's not our only forward signing, we need someone up there with pace and trickery. At least a winger.

Interesting to hear him single Fleck out. He's got good taste, at least.

He's actually got a lot more to his game than just sticking his head on the ball. Pig mates say that they never used him as a target man. Obviously Bolton did. This vid is quite useful, shows a variation of goals.

He was sitting 2 rows in front of me for the Barnet game. Blades all around him and he didn’t hit anybody.

Bet nobody told him what they thought of him signing to his face either did they?

The fact that Madine hit someone and got sent down really concerns me.

I've cuffed a few people in my time but I've always managed to outrun plod afterwards and I'm a fat waster. If a professional footballer can't steal a march on a couple of doughnut infused coppers, it doesn't bode well for him being able to get on the end of any through balls or crosses into the box, does it?

"I'd rather have madine in my team than playing against us.twat or not

With due respect, I would think that CW would have been privy to all the background information on Madine.
CW has weighed up the pros and cons and made his decision. Time will tell if it proves to be fruitful.
For me, I think it is a shrewd short-term loan leaving room for further signings in this window.
