Warnock referred to costs being covered, a promotion incentive and a fresh start. Could still be a loan deal, but sounds a lot like a permanent transfer to me. Bit worrying if so. We all ridiculed Cardiff for spending £6m on him last January, I would hope it’s only around 50% of the few they paid or I’ll be very disappointed.

Anyway, I’ve made my feelings clear on his signing on here and I’m totally against it. I don’t think he’s good enough to justify the divisions it’s caused and will continue to cause. However, it appears that he is our player now, we therefore need to hope he comes with a major point to prove, rolls up his sleeves and plays the best football of his career.

For me, he needs to come in and give a fairly big first interview and at least acknowledge some of his past behaviour towards the club (and in general) has fallen short of acceptable. He needs to cut out the drinking antics, particularly in and around Sheffield where he’ll be targeted by both sets of supporters and really knuckle down. He’s going to get stick from our fans, it’s a given. He needs to show character and use that to spur him on. If he runs himself into the ground for the cause a few times fans will (not forgive but) be more forgiving with him.

On a side note, Warnock referring to us as “my old club Sheffield....” Eugh. What Blade refers to us as Sheffield.

I’ve no doubt that Wilder has squared this with the players, especially Sharp.

And, rightly or wrongly, hostility to Madine would evaporate given (for example) a winning goal at The Sty.

No it won't. There are lines you don't cross. Madine is one of those lines.

Well according to Neil he’s off to play for Sheffield. Apparently they create a lot of chances? Quite the coup for them.
Once Warnock left I thought of him as an 'absolute fucking bellend'. He isn't disappointing me.

Warnock just confirmed it. He's coming.

We are shopping at Aldi not M&S.

If we the brass and had taken Caroll (as rumoured) on lone everyone would be jizzing up the walls.

Madine is Aldi's version of Caroll.

Anyway, I’ve made my feelings clear on his signing and I’m dead against it. But he’s our player now and I guess we’ve got to hope he comes with a major point to prove and plays the best football of his life.

I read on the Cardiff forum that the Madine deal was £2 million up front with loads of incentives building it up to a potential £6 million.

The fact that Cardiff were promoted pushed the price up considerably but they seem to be under the impression they’ve ended up paying £5 million for him, which they can easily afford now they have PL money.

I’m certain United will have similiar type of arrangement. We pay a relatively small amount but if we gain promotion then we pay Cardiff and Madine a massive bonus.

Fully payed up ? is that the loan fee or have we bought him

Yeah I just listened again. What a chuff nugget.

He has a mixed record with “helping out his old club” does Neil where loans are concerned too...

“When the chance for Paddy to go to United came up, I told him what a smashing place it is and that he’d love playing there.”

Unveiled on the quiet tomorrow when there's only going to be 6500 or so?

What do you think Wilder's press conference will be like? Sympathetic?

"I know what's gone off in the past with our fans and that's not on but people have to be given a chance to change and I believe, you know, in this environment with this group of lads that can happen and he can be a success."

Or 'I'm the fucking manager here"?

"Look what's passed has passed, it's my job to get people in that can do a job for us and I think I've done it and if it doesn't go down well, frankly that's not what I'm here for, it's not a popularity contest it's the championship and he can do well for us"

It's never too late to change your mind Chris

Oh well. Can I be the first to say GLTTL
