we should view this potential transfer on 2 basis - personal & professional
On a personal level, he isn’t a very nice human being, that said there are others who could be bracketed the same - JT, Giggs, Bellamy, Balotelli etc. All have indiscretions on their personal CV, but their professional CV is such that you may turn a blind eye to the nobishness.
If we assess Madine, his off field antics are that of a heavyweight bell end, but let’s look at his playing career, after all we’re signing him for his goals, not his people skills.
Accepting he had moderate success at the pigs and Bolton -197 appearances for 50goals, less than 1 in 4 is hardly prolific, especially considering Sharp has scored 80 from 145 (goals ratio 1 in 1.81)since rejoining in 2015.
However taking those 2 ‘highlight’ out, he has played for 7 different clubs (4 blanks), making 132 appearances, scoring 21 goals (goals to game of 1 in 6.2). Bearing in mind these include the mighty Rochdale, Blackpool, Coventry and Carlisle x2.

In summary we are considering a questionable personality, with a career goal scoring record across 319 appearances yielding 71 goals, or 1 in 4.5
