He's not better, but he is different to what we've got and maybe that's the whole point. Playing for Bolton against us he showed what he can do in terms of physically roughing up a defence.

We don't have that at the moment nd when all else fails it isn't such a bad idea to see if 'they don't like it up em '.

He did rough us up last season and I think that led to CW realising we needed a more commanding CB.
- Enter John Eagan.

That was just round the corner from me:), there are some proper nobs about.

This lad knows we hate him and only scoring mixed with display/commitment/results.........he must be confident along with wilder to win us over, ballsy decision all round........if he fails we fuck his career,if he does well then its great business.......win win

Im.not bothered about his past or his piggy connections or his attitude ,what I am bothered about is if he comes into the side and mcgoldrick or Sharp drops out we are a worse team with less of a goal threat and mote likely to play it long and totally nullify our own attacking gifts and what makes us unique

Even coming off the bench any half decent championship defender is not going to struggle against him

If like to see what bolton and Cardiff ( even grunters)fans think of him ( Roygbiv )and how often his style brings any reward

I do have to add though although I thought we gave him an easy ride in that game at the lane that season I was still impressed with his distribution when he had the ball and his awareness of runners around him and also his te.prament and focus

"Mr Beresford said Madine, who joined the Owls from Carlisle United and is originally from Gateshead, had been staring at him in the bar and, when he had asked why, the player lashed out."

Now don't get me wrong, Madine is clearly a man with anger management issues and I'd want to be no-where near him on a night out, however, I read this and do wonder the exact events. Mr Beresford may have asked the question above in a very reasonable way but I've been in enough boozers/clubs and heard the "what you fucking looking at ?" line enough time to know what comes next. Perhaps Gary just decided to act first .

Just saying like ;)

If Bert's memory recalls correctly Currie got nicked on Eyre St for driving pissed up.
Maybe Silent Blade can also remember that.
He crashed his car onto a Keep Left sign in Eyre Street in the last weekend of March 1972. He got facial injuries and was ruled out of action for a few weeks. Not sure he got nicked for drink driving. I was only 10 at the time and wasnt really aware that drink and driving was against the law.

Is part of his contract that we rename the club Madine FC and only field him?

Support the rest of the players if you don't like Madine. He comes in he probably gets at most 2 or 3 starts barring injuries and will probably only appear from the bench occasionally.
It’s everybodies own personal choice and mine is to not watch this Kunt play I don’t care whether he never gets a start and spends all season on the bench makes no difference to me don’t want him any where near the Lane....wasn’t such the big man he makes out to be when he resided on Gloucester Terrace!!!

I will be absolutely livid if Madine nicks my car parking space down at the lane on match days . Cunt .

He was sat in my seat last home game. Stewards had to move him. Bastard said he’d “show me”. And it looks like he has

Anyone else got any Madine stories?

Predicted this after the gushing praise from wilder following Boxing Day last year..

I was in the barrel and the lads were saying 3-0 plus to us, I saw it as a banana skin... we know what happed and now we sign the architect of that defeat..

Let’s hope we have a maturing footballer on our hands and not a raw cocksure thug, if madine wants something more than a few quid and a nice car he better buck his ideas up.. time waits for no footballer..

This can go either way, I predict “agent madine” tweets to his Wendy mates in a sycophantic homage come the end of the season when he and us fails miserably...

He could be “managed” by Chris and take us up, it’s a real 50/50 this.. at least we know he’ll get stuck in, on or off the pitch..

Fuck it though, he’s still got potential on paper and if anybody can make him realise his potential it’s our guy isn’t it..

2004, he was in bother again and yet we name a stand after him..........

FORMER Blades star Tony Currie has promised to behave himself after being arrested following a domestic disturbance. The former Sheffield United, Leeds United and England ace had denied attacking wife Elizabeth at their home in Chestnut Avenue, Killamarsh, on February 15. Widely regarded as the best player ever to wear a Blades shirt, Currie is charged with an attack on his wife the day after Valentine's Day this year. The case was due to be heard as a trial at Chesterfield magistrates court on Wednesday. But the charge of assault was withdrawn after Currie, aged 54, admitted causing a breach of the peace. He was bound over to be of good behaviour for a year, especially towards his wife, in the sum of 200.

Certainly a strange one, this. No doubt there will be badge-kissing after the first goal, which will be bizarre in the extreme.
Not particularly happy if this turns out to be true, But I will get behind the manager. I will find it hard to cheer though, even if/when he scores.

I'd respect him more if he didn't kiss the badge. But I'd like him more if he did.

I have heard through the grapevine that unless he is allowed to sign for us that he will be writing a strongly worded letter to The Star , leafleting the local community and maybe having a few meetings above pubs to peacefully resolve the situation.

like that - but about 100 times more violent when I've seen it escalate.

I've only seen that 2 or 3 times when I was younger and then you learn to see it coming and leave before it kicks off. Gary doesn't seem like the leave to avoid the hassle type though.

I wouldn’t even mind so much, if the signings of: King, Evans and Madine were actually good signings at the time.

However. not only are Sheff Utd in the business of signing c****s, they’re always shit as well! No upside to this at all.

I see him as similar quality to waghorn to be honest and we were willing to bid a few million for him. A Standard championship player, with a decent half a season behind him before going to Cardiff.

If it’s only on loan I’m not too fussed. He could provide a very decent option and physical presence, if not we will move. He’ll be a handful to play against for sure.

That said if he signs he better hope his introduction to the side doesn’t coincide with a poor run of form as he’ll have fans on his back for sure.

Him dowell and something different attacking wise (Piazon has been rumoured) and I’d be fairy happy with the window.

I wouldn't care if Madine scored a hat trick for us against the Pigs in a 3-0 win at the Theatre of Rust and pushed us on to promotion, he still is and always will be a full weight cunt and probably the first player to pull on a Blades shirt (if it should ever happen) that I would boo!

Just seems like a lot of people are cutting their nose off to spite their face. I don't want him as much as the next person to be honest, but he's not stopping me enjoying our other players performances.

Signing, (at a guess) 'cupids'??? Please enlighten.

and what about this part mate?

"...The court was told Mr Hall, a Sheffield United fan, was left with a broken jaw and a fractured cheek after Madine asked him who he supported.

Bricklayer Mr Hall, who did not recognise the Wednesday striker, replied "United", and moments later he was punched in the eye.

He suffered a broken jaw and his cheek was fractured in five places..."
