No, Madine won’t help us win that fancy trophy. :)

.............and that's the 64,000 dollar question/answer.

we need SOMEONE up top - think the majority agree with this.

Who's available to sign and we can afford? I don't expect an answer - this has been done to death already, but someone has to come in. I would accept Madine as a last resort to at least give us an option.

Seems like Defoe has gone to Rangers - perhaps we aren't as attractive as we like to think or others teams will allow us to have (Hogan as an example)

Bet voided as I'd not seen Richard Cadette 's information prior to posting :D

I'm terrified he'll be right and I'm not too keen on humiliating myself out of choice.

I'll still be absolutely gobsmacked if this comes off. I hate the bastard.

You won't be able to run that route due to the wall of steel erected for Barnets visit.

Matt Smith would be my choice if we were to go for someone of that ilk, someone who can actually play football and has scored goals. Admittedly not this season as he’s been on the bench but that’s who I’d go for as you’ve politely asked. He went to QPR for £500k and doesn’t start, we could loan him then the domino effect means QPR can get someone else in who they want to play more instead of wasting the qualities of Matt Smith, letting him rot away.

Excuse me, did I say I was ITK? No.

I’m just fairly certain this has legs. Wilder clearly rates the guy. Have you read Danny04 ’s book?

The bloke is pond scum and I’ve called him all the names you could muster, but a lot of people are talking about this one and it ain’t going away.

OK....so you say "it's on".....but in reality you have absolutely no idea whether it's on or indeed off or indeed complete and utter bollocks........not read Danny04 's book yet, it's currently doubling up as a coaster on my bedside table..

Is there even a genuine hatred between Sharp and Madine?

It was a bit of drunken name calling that was hyped up and played out because it was the classic good guy, bad guy pantomime villain affair and played into our hands leading up to an important game.

There are enough reasons in the cons column here without overhyping an imaginary deep rooted personal fued.

Madine's a better player than Smith IMO, better agility and touch. But Smith's possibly more consistent and reliable. He might be one we've enquired about, but QPR will be one of the clubs Wilder referred to looking to climb the table so reluctant to do business with us.

I disagree with him been a better player but I agree with the rest of your post. Although like I said, if QPR could bring someone else in then why wouldn’t they let Smith come to us, he barely plays?

Because they wouldn't want to strengthen a team above them?

That and the fact there'll likely be kids around...

Why would they be seen to be doing that when they don’t play said player themselves, who happen to be below us?

It’s my opinion. I’m sorry, I forgot you’re not allowed opinions when you’re around.

You’d be better off on NKT, they all have an agenda.

My mate used to cut his hair about 8 years ago. Met him once in Starbucks seemed nice sober. Met him pissed again a few weeks later different person.

I get this. But how many people have ever said - "oh he's such a nice bloke when he's hammered" ?

Bound to be different if he’d not had his haircut for a few weeks. :)

In all honesty, if this comes off I suspect it’s the deal that Cardiff would have preferred to have done 12 months ago rather than buy him outright. Bolton were never going to agree to loan him given their position at the time, and Cardiff (well, Warnock) probably thought it was worth paying over the odds rather than not get anyone that added the same attributes to the squad.

When I was younger, I used to hang around with a lot of nice lads. All in decent jobs too and have done well for themselves.

However, in their late teens/early 20s, a night out for them was crap unless they'd had a scrap with someone. It's the alcohol.

Similarly myself, I've a very good career, but when I was younger I was uncontrollable after a few sherberts, as are many people when younger.

I had to stop watching that half way through as it made me feel sick  UTB

Yes can see that in the pigs gear - it destroys the theory of some of our fans who call him "a big lump"

Someone has to try and give a balanced view - it's not me that wants him, it seems to be CW

Like the sophisticated, intricate moving of the ball in the classic Klopp style Liverpool used for the last 10 minutes tonight?

I didn’t watch the Liverpool game but I’m assuming that you’re suggesting they ‘went long’ for the last 10 minutes. How did that go for them? Did they end up winning?

No one, it was well known around the time that he couldn’t handle his drink. One of my friends who was from where he originated said he was typical of someone from that town as in he just couldn’t handle his drink.

I’ve forgotten more about the game than you’ll ever know. I even venture outside S2 from time to time.

Players are not consulted on potential signings. It doesn’t happen. It would cause all sorts of problems. You lot need to stop placing Bladey Bill on a pedestal. You’re embarrassing yourselves. Do you think Tufty asked him whether he should be left out when he was rubbish last season?

Oh dem Bladey Blades...

I can assure you that it does happen.

For someone who claims to know a lot about football you often do a very good job of proving otherwise

I can absolutely guarantee you from personal experience in a professional football club that consultation about potential signings DOES happen. Normally just with the captain/vice captain, but nonetheless it happens.
