Auto's or not and play offs or not, Wilder can be immensely proud of this group of players, and the ownership can be immensely proud of and thankful to Wilder.

All players have played their part but the few players have really been at the core of this wave of good results:

Sharp, McGoldrick and Fleck.

And of course the brilliant Dean Henderson, whos arms are longer than the DFS sale

And the defence who’ve conceded 1 goal in 3 games and haven’t really looked like conceding either (other than the Wigan chance with lee Evans being a fucktard)

Really? So if we nosedived and finished around midtable youd be happy?
That's equivelant to being 4 0 up at half time having played worldly stuff for 45 minutes then performing like 11 dustbin in the second half and losing 5 4.

Yea I'd really jizz all over the place for that shit.

Course every player has a case but those are just the ones I picked out.

Don't pull up here Lojka.

Wish it was true but so many fans these days are fickle, forgetful and unloyal.

I can gaurantee that if we went 10 games without a win the headlines on here would be
‘Sharp needs to retire because he’s past it”
‘Wilder has been found out....always knew he wasn’t that good”
‘Basham and Duffy need to return back to league 1, where they belong”.

Personally this is the most consistently entertaining team I’ve seen at the Lane in my 40+ years.
Will never forget and will always appreciate what Wilder has done so far.

10, 5 on the bounce would do it for the fickle.

I've been wondering what we need to get Play Offs. 10 more wins gets us 77pts which more often than not gets you a top 6 finish. We have 10 home games remaining and 10 away. If we can win 7 or 8 of those home games, we're near enough in the play offs. We are down to play 6 of the current bottom half at home.

I'm basically trying to say that, barring a monumental fuck up, we should make the play offs.

Ssshhhhh keep it to yourself, I was thinking the same earlier but I’m still waiting for the kick in the balls.

Like a Norwood injury or a Fleck/O'Connel sale or a Dean Henderson recall?

Sharp getting glandular fever, Bramall Lane falling into a sinkhole mid match and taking the squad and management with it, Basham becoming shit overnight......... if it can happen to anyone.

Fleck has only come back to form sinice ipswich away.
As long as he keeps on form,we've a good chance.

Our nosedive had already started by this time last season, so hopefully that is a sign that we are better equipped to deal with things this time.

Still need a good transfer window though, two more GOOD QUALITY players now that we've brought Dowell in and who knows

If we blew it over the next 10 games after the platform we've given ourselves for promotion then we would be entitled to ask these questions and a few more besides.

Every single one of the players has had praise and has deserved it, don’t think we can say there are individuals who are dragging others through games. Some other teams have that, but I can safely say this team seems to be the best TEAM I’ve seen for a while.

Have a Lydon like.

If we do make the playoffs it will be a fantastic achievement and anything after that is a bonus! Like an earlier poster said this is the most entertaining team I and many others will have seen in their lifetimes. Let's just enjoy it, the fact that I look forward to every game like a kid at Christmas

I know you tried to explain why you singled players out but I don’t think you really can. Not one player has let us down. Maybe form has dipped but that is only using their own high standards as a marker. They have ALL achieved way above what could be expected and that includes Lundstram et al. The only one that hasn’t in my book is Woodburn and that might be down to lack of opportunity, who knows.

CW/AK also fit into this bracket so everyone, take a bow!

We would have every right to ask questions and feeling dissapointed would be justifiable - however Barney's OP never implied that this wasn't the case.

He said that we should be proud of Wilder and the team, regardless of what happens for the rest of the season - which I completely agree with.

Look at Man City -arguably one of the greatest sides the PL has ever seen - in a bad run of form; I'm sure a proportion of their fans are despairing, angry with their team squandering the ground they'd made between them and their rivals. There will be another proportion of their fans still positive about the future of their team, and acknowledging that Liverpool's resurgence and a few unlucky injuries is the difference between this year and last.

It's a spectrum, obviously, ranging from
indefatigable super-fans, defending the club without exception to those who are seemingly never pleased.
