As I said in the other thread on Jake...

I bloody love Jake, I wouldn't be adverse to him being in our side still, he's brilliantly committed.

Also makes you wonder, our squad has an excellent atmosphere and a fantastic style of play, it must be brilliant to be a part of and it must be disappointing to leave it and go elsewhere. What Wilder and Knill has built is special and unique, it isn't elsewhere.

Wright has been good for the Blades, just as the Blades have been good for Wright.

Clearly, once promotion was achieved his game time was always going to be limited. Once Stearman arrived it signalled that our manager's mantra of "Being loyal but not sentimental" would prove to be correct. I'm sure Stearman took heed once Egan was signed, such is the way of any club with ambition's to do well. Eventually it will be the same when we find the right player to take the place of Sharp. Maybe, by that time, we'll have sorted out our ownership problems and have enough sense to understand that investment is necessary if we are serious about moving forward.

The most unexpected success story in recent seasons for me. The way he lead the back line was brilliant and he was instrumental in our promotion from L1. All the very best Jake, you will always be welcomed back to Bramall Lane.

There had to be one!

Sorry I don’t even know. Just felt like 2019 is a matter of hours away and I’ve not made any attempt at trolling this year.. remember when the forum was split into team Stears and Team Jake? Mad times that was

I will repeat what I have said many times before but I have never seen a Blades defender read the game as well as he did. I always felt so confident that we wouldn't concede with him in the team, he would just sniff out and then snuff out danger and barely seemed to break into a sweat doing it.

I also remember him coming into the team when our defence was in disarray. A few of us on here were calling for it due to his experience and leadership but I don't think any of us could have predicted quite how immense he would turn out to be.

If we had somehow managed to get Deano when we were in league one, with Jake in front I doubt we would have conceded much more than 20 goals.

Really sad to see him go, would love him to stay on and move into coaching with us but it's probably too early whilst he still wants to play and perhaps not realistic for now.

It won't be too long before we are bidding farewell to others from that wonderful promotion team.

Haven’t we only lost 2 or 3 games when he’s played? Not a bad record considering he’s played 46.

Shame he couldn't have a final appearance against Barnet before leaving.
He needs to go to a team who play three centre backs to be in the middle of them; otherwise he'll be no where near as effective in a flat back four.

Very good point SB which is exactly the reason why he didn't look anything special in L1's Oxford's defence and led to his release.

All he best Jake. It will, only be a short step back you are destined for better things. If he's going I'd guess O'conell is staying.
