Prior to our 2-0 win at Ewood Park on October 3rd, I did a ‘Memries of Blackburn’ (our first meeting since 3rd February 2007 in the Premier League). Our win earlier this season would end Blackburn's 25-match unbeaten home run - a post-war club record – and Billy Sharp’s brace gave United their first win on this ground since November 1986, when our captain was only 10 months old. Paul Coutts was introduced as substitute on 73 minutes, his first appearance since breaking his leg at Burton on November 17th, 2017.

This is the 142nd league meeting between the teams.

Home: P: 70 W: 33 D: 21 L: 16 F: 138 A: 80

Away: P: 71 W: 21 D: 14 L: 36 F: 87 A: 127

Complete record Sheffield United v Blackburn Rovers

Championship Table:

The Blades sit in fourth place – ten points above Blackburn in 14th spot.

Form Guide:

With ten points from the last 18, United are joint tenth based on the last six league games, and Blackburn are in 19th place. However, Blackburn’s brave and narrow defeat at Leeds on Boxing Day suggests another close battle on Saturday.

Blackburn Top Scorers:

Bradley Dack has followed his 19 goals last season with 9 league goals this term. Likewise, Danny Graham is well on course to overtake his 14 league goals from last season.

There is only one game I think of when Blackburn comes up the 1993 FA Cup quarter final replay.

Of course that was back when the FA Cup was a proper competition, not just the 4 month chore it is now to work out which two of the top six prem teams are going to play in glorified half hearted end of season friendly.

Haven't United played more games against Blackburn Rovers than against any other club?
