Did anyone attempt to get a pint of real ale on Boxing day. I don't know where they got the bar staff from but they almost all didn't have a clue. It was so farcical it was almost funny. The young girls were trying to pull a pint and it frothing all over the place. There was one bloke insisting his pint was full to the top and this girl was just letting beer run out over the top into the waste. A pot she was using to top up another was then just poured down the drain.
One young lad walked away with a half glass that was less than half full!
I did suggest they might tip the glass a bit but that didn't really sink in. I got lucky, the one girl who seemed to know what she was doing pulled me a lovely full pint of Coast 2 Coast, many weren't so lucky :)
I didn't hear any real malice though, hope it stayed that way.

It is being reported that blades fans caused mayhem at the match yesterday, according to some sources they ran riot kidney punching, 5 casks of larger....4 john smiths....3 watney reds...2 casks of lager and a flagon of camomile tea......:tumbleweed::rolleyes:

They had real ale ?
No, craft beer, it's different! "Real ale" is served from hand pumps. When I last looked there were none at BDTBL. "Craft beer" is usually keg pumps and is beer which tastes of summat other than gas (apologies to you Carling fans out there!). For a better beer experience than the ground's overpriced bars, try the recently reopened Sentinel bar on Shoreham Street. Real quality beer, "real" and "craft" all £3 a pint. No, they're not paying me, but we all deserve good beer!!!! Sorry for the pedantry!!!

One time I saw one of them had written on a piece of paper on the till the price of one pint, two pints, and three pints. God knows what happened if anyone ever did a larger round.

I always think you drop on lucky, when you get a young girl that gives good head!

In Britain, people who serve in bars are just given a training session that consists of pulling one pint and then being left to get on with it.

Drives me nuts waiting at a bar and the bartender not having a clue who's next, it causes arguments if you get served before someone who THINKS they've been there longer than you.
It's not my job to know who's there first

In other countries it is more of a proper occupation rather than something students and young kids do to earn a few quid

I was in Ireland recently, the pub was packed and the guy behind the bar was serving three people at a time, getting each order correct, getting the change correct and pulling each drink perfectly.

Then when passing our table with 12 people sat around it he said "Same again for everyone is it"
He then brought the drinks over and moved to the next table, some of his colleagues were doing the same whilst one or two stayed behind the bar to serve those that were stood

It's difficult to get served in my local if there's more than seven people in it, and if seven more walk in there's a good chance they'll get served before you because they haven't a clue

Is it the same people running it?

You beat me to it pal, I was about to ask the same.

I was told that when it was previously open, the brewing part and the actual bar and food part were run by two different companies.

Went in there after the match. Awful beer. Are they clearing out the old stock or what ?

Craft beer is to good drinking as the Kardashians are to the human race.

Disagree. There’s some fantastic beer across the UK, the micro and small brewery is so widespread now. It’s as good as anywhere I’ve been. I just wish people could part with their £4 without having to test the beer. ;)
