If you don’t beat the best sides

For clarity this was never intended to be a negative post, I’m not entirely sure how it’s been twisted and misconstrued to fit that viewpoint.

It’s very simple, we’ve lost nearly every game we’ve played against the sides around us, and fortunately played Norwich and Villa at good points in order to beat them when we probably would be looking at a very different result now.

But no one can argue if you don’t win them you HAVE to be beating Ipswich away from home. You have to win those types of games if you have designs on promotion and you’re not beating the sides around you.

We are very good at it usually, I’d say better than most but we leave ourselves no room for error in these games because we are incapable of beating our rivals. That’s why yesterday was such a disappointing result. They are fucking dreadful.

How many times have you seen them since Lambert took over? You know, that bloke who won back to back promotions with the turkey wankers. Maybe he’s turning them round, after they got their first win under him this season? True, under Hirst, they were absolute garbage but on a day when Palace beat City and Leicester beat Chelsea, drawing at Ipswich isn’t the big shock of the day. Disappointing but no more than that although it does make the Derby result more important. An extra two points would have been a nice cushion.

Also Lambert has a worse PPG ratio than Hurst so far.

I also said draw your away games, but we've won a fair few of the away games.

In 23 games played, we've won 48% of all games.
Played 11 home and won 5 (45%)
Played 12 Away and won 6 (50%)

So in fairness we've overachieved away from home.

Would you not try and be positive in every facet of your life? Especially when it comes to something like United that we have no control over.

I know the ownership situation is a complete shit show, and it risks derailing a seemingly decent oppurtunity to get promoted. However, I also know that we're playing great football, under a great manager with some admirable players - something we've rarely managed since I've watched us.

I just personally find that optimism and gratitude for where we are makes watching us more enjoyable.

Again, it's down to perception but happy to leave it as it's clear we're not going to see eye to eye.

You're absoloutely right; I'm delighted that we've got that monkey off our back, more importantly we did it in convincing fashion.
As you said it was well deserved: anything other than a blades win today would have been a travesty.

Let's hope this is a sign of things to come for the remainder of the season.

Only Derby have 16 from 11.

We need to improve, but it's not like we are some rubbish outlier
