another good result for the reserves i don't normally take much notice but i do like to see how we are doing in terms of back up just shows how poor our back up is when we can't beat walsall reserves. Our reserves should be capable of beating there first 11

Thing is, when our youth and reserve teams have been doing well (as they have in recent years) they aren't seen as us having good back up.... Therefore I think it's a little unfair to label them as poor backup when they aren't doing well.

I've seen our reserves/youth play Manchester United off the park... that doesn't mean we had better backup at the time than Manchester United :)

Couldn't agree more Foxy, it proves nothing.

Reserves games are a chance to get players games for various reasons. They're not always must win games.

It is worrying though. I think reading posts on this site it's obvious that all is not well at bdtbb. Lets hope we thrash Donny 4-0 and get some hope back.
Ps i don't like losing to the pigs at any level.

The bizzare thing about reserve team games these days is that we never actually play our reserves - we tend to play the youth team - of the 16 on duty last night only two could be remotely considered as first team squad players (France and Fortune), plus one trialist (Pericard), which leaves 13 under 18's. Why we don't play the likes of Bennett, Little, Reid, Davies, Creswell, Stewart etc is beyond me.

So whilst I would expect SUFC reserves to beat Walsall reserves, I wouldn't necessarily expect SUFC under 18's to beat them.

no i agree with the youth team being very good but just looking at the reserves i think they show our first team back up
