Opposition say we lack quality.......think what they mean is we don’t have high quality individuals.
Unlike other teams we rarely ever score from a fantastic piece of skill, we don’t score from nothing.

I’m a big believer that players are only good when you play to their strength.

There’s the old saying that “football is a simple game”.
The United players tend to keep it very simple, we make the ball do the work and rely on team work to score.
We use a system and every player buys into it, meaning we are an exceptionally well drilled team.

I have a unpopular theory that if some of our players went to other teams they’d be nowhere near as good.

When your team doesn’t register a shot on target at home then you know your in trouble .. join hands with Ipswich & the oinks before you take the plunge into League 1

Was talking to a reading lad in the pub after and I said with respect, even at 0-0 I'd be worried as a reading fan. I've never seen such nothingness in attack.

Could we try a crafty bid for Swift as they look to be on their way down.

Ignoring the Sheffield comment for a bit...

Imagine that, Wilder is doing the job he's employed to do

I used to like the comments about Wilder getting the best out of players, like it was some sort of fluke.

However, after 2 1/2 seasons he and the players have proven that they are at the level they deserve to be. Yes they were bargain basement deals, but value is subjective.

The players are good enough for at least top 10, proven last season. Possibly higher. So the players deserve more credit for reaching their potential.

However, its grinding my gears now... Wilder's job, like any manager with a team beneath him is to get the best out of his people. Its taking nothing away from the job that he's doing, but its quite dismissive.

Well said Swiss, it is quite condescending and is almost insulting, sadly though as we're not in the bubble of the premier league we will always be viewed this way...

I'd imagine however Wilder et all are used to it and are smart enough to use it as to their advantage at times.

Finally, I think its to our benefit at times, under the radar and all that.

The shoutbox is used to vent and better to use that than create half a dozen threads about the match.

Vent at a team that’s come from also-rans in league one to third in the Championship, playing great football along the way?

Why?

Call me old fashioned but a bit of ... well .... patience and encouragement might be called for? I almost said ‘support’ but I realise that’s too much to ask.

No not really but people on here like to moan about other members of this forum without having the bollocks to say it to them directly.

People moan in the shoutbox as much they would moan at the match. As for yesterday people moaned about the poor performance in the first half mostly and thats about it.

Why do you have to moan at all? Is it hereditary in S2?

Here we are third in the Championship two short years after being third division also rans. We are playing great football and achieving a high level of success in our results. What’s to moan about?

As for not having the bollocks to tell idiots directly, just let me know which NBW you want telling and I’ll get right onto it, as I always have and always will. That particular macho cliché fails miserably with me, I’m afraid.

The fact is it’s the foot-stamping, knee-jerking, tantrum throwing, self-entitled numpties who have put so many sensible posters off Saturday Shoutbox who are bollock-less (apart from their brain function). They haven’t the bollocks to take a bit of adversity without screaming abuse. Any set-back is met not with encouragement but ridicule of the team they claim to support. They have the backbone of a jellyfish and the self-entitlement of a spoiled brat.

I keep away from the asylum when the loonies have their Saturday playtime, so I don’t know what was said and I’m pleased about that. However, it’s clear that reasonable sensible contributors felt strongly enough to comment. That’s not moaning; that’s confronting the foot-stamping, purple-faced drivel that appears without fail every time United dare to miss a chance, concede a goal or, Pele forbid, lose a game, you know just like every club, even the very best.

Shoutbox? No, day nursery.

Unfortunately I happened to see the behaviour mentioned. I think the correct term is hysterical.....as if those responsible know anything about the why's or wherefore's regarding the incidents concerned. It's not surprising that not a single one of the moaners chose to remain absent after the final whistle, not even the generosity to apologise or admit to being wrong, but I guess all clubs have 'supporters' who seem to know more than those in the club's employ.

Quite, and the vitriol will be undiluted by experience and increasingly shameless. I’m afraid some people find enjoyment only in misery and will not allow absurdity to divert them from that key destination, in fact it’s their very Sat-Nav, however risible their notions may appear to anyone with an ounce of sense.

Shoutbox had the crayon holders out in full force.

One full weight was saying how we would probably win despite being shit - just as the rest of shoutbox was still typing 'yesss' or 'get in' for Billys goal. Imagine having the mind set that you can't wait to type that thought out and send it after we've just scored an 83rd minute winner in a second half we've dominated.

Crayola's shares will be well up tomorrow.

I'm a twat on Shoutbox to be fair if I'm listening to the game. I suppose it's just the immediate frustration of conceding or losing.

Quite surprised there seemed to be a meltdown last night though. We weren't great but we were by far the better side. I understand why there was criticism but it sounds like things went way overboard.

Its in the right column of this website, I dont think you need to have a twitter account to view it. I think Foxy and co are usually pretty fast with the status updates during a match. Certainly faster than the shitty BBC website I would imagine.

Of course I’m elated when we win and in whatever way we do it is fine by me. I’ve seen great displays and we haven’t won. Reading belong to that band of Southern over privileged teams who have got where they are by big money and have a over reaching sense of entitlement.
Thanks Roy

What I enjoy most about Roy's Views From are the comments about Billy. Whilst our lot are happy to accept Wilder playing Washington/Goldy ahead of him, complain about the sitters he misses and comment on his legs being gone, the oppo fans from every club bar none are fucking terrified of him and consequently detest him.

Everyone hates goal poacher, but he’s our goal poacher, so we love him, fuck em!

The worst things that have happened to us this season are beating Villa 4-1 and going top of the league. It now means that not beating everyone 4-1 and being anywhere other than top of the league is a failure.

People were moaning about tactical nous and game management (or lack of) the other week, we excelled at both against Reading and kept 2 key players fresh in the process.

On the reverse side, if their half decent players joined us, they would be much better players. CW would sort them out.

A few saying they want Reading to get relegated....

My "top" bottom three would be :-

1. Pork - no explanation required
2. Notlob - deluded cretins and purveyors of horrible football and Phil "it's never my fault we've lost" Parkinson.
3. Ull - The Adkins effect

sitwell The only time I have lost my temper and typed abuse to fellow blades (copyright woodwardfan?) on this forum was when I made the mistake of going on shoutbox during a match about a year ago.

Within 5 minutes of watching the drivel being typed I was reduced to calling people ‘fucking moaning little bitches’ before I thought better of giving myself a heart attack and flounced off.

I haven’t been back since during a game. I highly recommend it.

Totally agree.
Another issue is that Wilder must give out clear simple instructions because every player knows their role within a team and how their team mates will play. He also prefers to play the same players with the same tactics, so everyone knows their job without thinking.
I hear the “Sheff Utd are such a well drilled team” comment all the time and it’s such a big complement to Wilder.
All our players seem to know what they are doing within the team framework.

My brother is a Wednesday fan and he told me yesterday that SW are getting worse. He used to feel really sad but now he finds their performances funny and goes for the comedy value. He said it’s as though their players have just met each other and don’t know what they supposed to do. He jokes that it’s as though Chansiri and Luhukay are Blades.

Suspect that if Wider got old of Lucas João, he’d improve his attitude and effectiveness and he’s be a real asset.

Agree with the first two, think that’s fair enough. Haven’t got any strong feelings against Hull though to be honest, nor against Adkins either for that matter.

Agree, CW has, from the start a plan of how he wants us to play. From younger players through too the under 21/23 teams, they all fit in to the jigsaw as and when needed. The trouble with the deluded s6 lot, is, they gambled wanting there and then, with no long term infrastructure and f****d up. Now they’re just treading water, waiting to implode. As bad as they where at the lane, they’re going to be saved the drop because of ipwich, Bolton and Reading. But if there is a Santa Claus, and he’s got my letter, they’re f****d.

I think someone else nailed it when they called Adkins "a complete charlatan".

Have we got stronger feelings against Reading for some reason?
