Yep, time to have a clear out. Sentiment has to be chucked out of the window and some of the following need to go. I'm sick of hearing about the justification for pursuing with the likes of Leon, Billy, Freeman and Basham. Duffy is on borrowed time and the latest fan's fave McGoldrick couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo. Go on then, say it, his "link up play" is fantastic. But we didn't sign him for that, we signed him to score a few fucking goals.

Wilder needs to have a radical re-think in the JTW because he's just dipping his head in a barrel full of stale apples with team selection at the moment. Yeah, I know, the board need to chip in too but they need to take their heads out of their respective arses and look a bit beyond scoring PR points from each other first.

The manager is working miracles with this squad ,about time some of you realised this and got behind the guy instead of sounding like Adrian Durham

Best football at the Lane for 40 years. Throw no one out Chris. Far as I'm concerned the jobs yours for life.

As for Goldy he had a 9 out of 10 for me.

The last few misses he actually did very little wrong, he's so classy he,s worth the entrance fee alone.

Hard fought match we made top of the table look average, we deserved the win. And we're unlucky simple as those it any other way is just sour grapes- get some perspective.

I’ve read some rubbish on here, but this is exceptional. How many games have you got to this season?

Jesus Harry Christ.

I wouldn’t go that far.

I’m unhappy tonight, a few need to have a real look at themselves, but we aren’t miles away. Basham doesn’t deserve that level of criticism at all he’s been outstanding this season, Duffy has - we look lost without him despite his poor effort today, and Sharp has. Look at his goal tally.

It's all relative. All of our squad have their limitations. Only Egan and Norwood have been signed for anything like decent money. The 6 players lusted in the op cost less than a million combined and 5 were signed while we were in League 1 whilst the 6th was a free agent having been released by the club cut adrift at the bottom of our league. I don't think it's fair to expect them to be better than the best players in the division. But collectively, we're doing better than mid-table with a worse than mid-table budget and the players listed have made a big contribution to that. I don't think wilder keeps tget around for sentimental reasons. On our budget, it's difficult to sign players better than them. Until we can, we go with them.

I will humour you in that Leon Billy aren't getting any younger and it needs freshening up abit up top and some competition .As for the others I can't see it , mcgoldrick is better behind a front 2 imho . Bash and freeman are worth thier place Definately. I quite like some people who challenge conventional opinion even if I don't agree , the C*nt comment is probably a bit offside .

Predictable responses so far but not addressing the point. They're either too old or not good enough. How long do you expect some of these to continue? We had the same a few years ago with the likes of Matty Hill and Matt Done who always "put a good shift in" and were "proud to wear the shirt". I do retract what I said about Basham, he's just being played in the wrong position. He would be a perfect foil for a ball player in midfield as Hockey was for Currie, Except the midfielder we had in Brooks, who was fringe player for us but is tearing arses in the premier league 6 months later wasn't deemed good enough to be a regular starter.

Well therein lies the rub - until the ownership situation is resolved, we shan't have the funds available to buy some reliable players who are desperately needed, in the end, you gets what you pays for. (and its just possible we may still have had Brooks on the staff )

Is the ownership resolved?

Who is Adrian Durham?

That very same Basham who was man of the match ?

If look up the definition of “Thick as Mince” on Urban Dictionary there’s a link to the OP.

The most disturbing comment here is that Basham is played out of position, when in fact, the move to this position has been the making of him.

He was an average centre midfielder in league 1. He's been excellent since he was moved to right sided CB.

Even when it is resolved we aren't going to be financially competing with the club's around us, why would we be when we haven't before ?

Why not just accept that these are actually the good times and try and e enjoy it before it will goes to shit again

There”s good reasons why players become fans favourites, give the fans some credit and put the dummy back in.

It's going to shit again but the blinkers are firmly fixed into place. No doubt the "I would have snatched your hand off to finish top/3rd/6th/top half/midtable/avoiding relegation" comments will be trotted out (delete where appropriate depending on which stage of the season we are referring to).

If you can't enjoy it now lad ......

My god Snooty, if you think finishing in the top half of the Championship is bad where the hell have you been for the last 70 years ?

At this rate we won't finish in the top half. Regarding my early indoctrination with the Blades we spent most of the time in the top flight.

Yeah get rid of all the players who have been punching above their weight none stop for two years and turned this club around. Good idea.

Yep, this is the crux of the whole issue. We have been turned around, great. Now we need to progress. Stick with what we have and we will soon be heading south again.
