Been really poor for me these last couple of months. Think it's time he had a rest and we give Lunny a go (tin hat on) . Doesn't seem to have the energy of last season, and that's one thing you need playing in a 3 man midfield. Obviously a class player, but needs dropping for me in the next 2 or 3 games.

He did well against Brentford, but that's an exception in a poor recent run. Partly adjusting to playing alongside Norwood? But that doesn't explain why his first touch seems to have deserted him. I'd give Lunny a go.

He's too deep for some reason. He used to get in the box, fuck knows why he's changed his game.

He usually regularly produces that bit extra you don't expect that leads to something. He hasn't done that since Derby away. He's even fucking up the basics, the passes that we take for granted with him.

Needs to get on his game again. It would help if Coutts was alongside him.

Spot on he's suffering from not having a fit Coutts alongside him to provide the short sharp crisp passes so he can run from deep. He's the only left sided middy we've got so we don't have a natural replacement. Time to have a look at the holy trinity again as an option because we are getting bogged down in the middle when the oppo. presses us high up the pitch.

Well he’s going to have to get over it at some point if he wants to further his career. He can’t play alongside Coutts forever.

I'm afraid that Fleck and Norwood lost the midfield battle today. Fair play to them, one of, if not best side I've seen at the Lane so far. We were second best, particular as the game went on, but what a way to lose :(

The midfield was dreadful today. I'm a big fan of fleck but he has been invisible for the majority of the last 5 or 6 games. Should have brought coutts on for fleck or even Norwood after an hour. Both were poor. We resorted to the kind of elpiton style of football that Blackwell employed at times. Unfortunately we can't cross a ball either. Our delivery and final ball is not good.
We started well and at times dominated a decent Leeds team. But same old story we saw so many times last season. Leeds were a decent team but nothing special and we should easily have enough to beat teams like that. Lack of that extra bit of quality is going to cost us once again.

All three of the midfield had under par games, Norwood was the best of the three but no one made the runs for his passes so negates much of his influence.

Nothing Duffy did worked, should probably have been pulled at halftime for Lunny.

Fleck seems to be signed up for “no shot November” three times he could have had dig on his favourite left foot but chose to push it wide. Only just earning the jersey for me at the moment.

Thought it was a tight affair and they weren’t at the top of there game but dreadful?
See Rotherham away for that. You don’t dominate at times when your midfield is dreadful

I take your point, perhaps I should re word as, at times we dominated and at times we were dreadful, which in my opinion we were. We were also dreadful against rotherham as you correctly point out.

We had nearly 56% possession today against a side that nearly always dominate the opposition.
Don't know how we did that if our midfielders were dreadful.
And how effective was that possession exactly?

We created more chances, more clear cut chances and had more corners than a very good team, so I would say pretty effective.

He was annonymous today.

At least Norwood gets on the ball.

I'm one of Fleck's biggest fans but sometimes he doesn't just doesnt want the ball under pressure and fails to show as an option.

Usually fantastic when on the ball. Unfortunately today wasn't one of those days .

Fleck has been brilliant the last two years but has looked off form for most of the season. Doesn’t seem to bomb into the box like he used too, seems too deep at times and his first touch seems to have abandoned him.

His poor form is definitely one of the reasons why we aren’t winning games right now.

Is that the easy header from a pass by mcgoldrick or the shot by mcgoldrick from a pass by Washington? Sorry mate but for all the possession, the midfield created little in the way of clear cut chances. I love the way we play for the most part, but you have to accept that we lack the final ball needed to put teams away. If you can't see that then keep clinging to the stats if they make you feel warm and fuzzy.

Midfield is more than just about the final ball. How many final balls did their midfield make and who prevented them?
Our midfielders competed well against on of the best midfields in the division.
I agree our final ball often isn't good enough but they are normally played by wing backs or centre halves in our system.

The dirties did their homework, Fleck and Duffy were marked out of the game for the most part.
Not saying Fleck couldn't have played better, but they closed down very effectively.
I did think during the match the Coutts/Fleck combo of old would have dealt with that pressing better, but that's not available yet for obvious reasons.
Ah well on to the next one. UTB

Right then, Duffy, Fleck & Norwood were crap, Goldie couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo, Baldock was anonymous, Stevens should have been sent off, our best player overall this season (Bash) is being played out of position, keeper dropped a bollock, Jesus I had no idea, all hope is lost, keep a place in League One warm for us because for sure we will be back there very soon.

Duffy, fleck and Norwood weren't very good today, Stevens should have been sent off and hendo did drop a bollock. Goldie is shit at shooting. Facts.
Just by recognising that, doesn't mean we are rubbing our hands at the thought of relegation.
We are easily a top 10 team but we have the capability to be a top two team with a bit more creativity and quality in the final third.
Boro aside, we have not been blown away or outplayed by anyone this season. and our lack of picking up wins from draws or draws from defeats has been largely our own fault. We should comfortably have 6 more points than we actually have at this stage.
I dare say there are a few teams which would argue that they should have more points also but I've seen nothing to be worried about and nothing to suggest that we can't be a top two team. The frustration comes from knowing that we could and should be doing better than we are.

You seem to confuse fact with opinion.
