Does this mean south stand is exiting at kop end too or will the barrier start after the exits on BL ?

Bet they'll be putting barriers up before the game too, just like the other week when hundreds missed kick off against the pigs

And who are various stakeholders?

Er, SYPD? So the overcrowding at the ends of both John Street and Cherry Street isn't a safety hazard? I wish the cops would fuck off and get on with what they're good at - investigating 'hate crimes' and arresting wolf-whistling builders.

SYP couldn't control access to 6 turnstiles against the Pigs meaning they were limited to 3. Unlike every other police force in the country they are not capable of controlling 2,000 away fans. A 2,900 away capacity has been reduced year on year to 2,100 this season. A large block in the BLUT corner is unavailable for this match. Add to that the usual segregation of numerous front rows and the BLUT will look sparsely populated tomorrow.

Not only do SYP control the streets outside the ground but they now control ticket sales meaning tickets are impossible to obtain for the casual fan who doesn't have 500 points and numbers are considerably reduced in certain stands. Add to that input into Kick off times meaning we will never ever again see a local derby kick off on a Saturday at 3 p.m.No doubt the latest round of impositions is influenced by the piggy MP fabricating stories about crowd congestion.

SYP will constantly find ways to disrupt high profile SUFC games and inconvenience the supporters, its too much of a ball ache for them to police. Fans in the BLUT, Westfield and South Stand face the prospect of all exiting at the same point tomorrow. So much for the weak arguments from SAG that available tickets in stands are reduced because of problems exiting the ground.

I just hope the local Stasi haven't shut the Lord Nelson again tomorrow so I can get a decent pint before the game.

Youd have thought if there was one force in the country that had experience with overcrowding itd be SYP

It’s getting to the point where we would be better off without away fans. We have reached the tipping point between atmosphere advantages and inconvenience disadvantages.

Next step.. away fan ban..

Followed by... games behind closed doors.

It’s coming..

SYP hate football and just wish it would go away.

I noticed the segregation at Villa v Brum was a line of stewards...why we have to have thousands of seats unavailable is beyond me...The barriers outside and closing off roads is totally unnessasary for me..it's not the 70's or 80's ffs,and why are the barriers only used at the Lane?...Put some temporary camera's up and anyone causing trouble will be easily identified and many will think it's not worth it...Put them behind a Police line or Barrier, and people feel a lot braver, and gather to shout abuse and throw stuff knowing they can't be hot at.

It isn't as daft as it seems.

IF we want to get rid of the abundance of netting then there has to be a PLAN to stop issues on Bramall Lane. The away fan restrictions cause loss of income

It was only last year that we had trouble with Norwich fans - and yes, the idiot Norwich fan came out giving it big, but there was still confrontation with Blades fans goading the Norwich fans.

What still seems to be a problem to me, is there doesn't appear to be a CONTINUING and CONSISTENT plan for away fans in place - the system keeps changing.

Find a plan, work at it, stick to it and get the SAG restrictions slowly lifted.

UTB

I park in the St Marys church car park, after the match against them lot we were not allowed through the barrier to access the car park and had to walk all the way round up the dual carriage way and back round that way. Got to the car park just as the away fans were let out. We then had to sit in the car for an hour waiting for fans and the barrier to clear before the police would let us out. All this while we had idiots from both sides causing trouble and fighting with police, not ideal when you have a kid with you.

These restrictions cause far more trouble than they prevent.

Dont have any barriers, keep away fans held for 15 minutes while home fans disburse and jobs a good'un surly?

Fucking embarrassing.

And who are various stakeholders?

God help us if we ever make it into Europe and draw Feyenoord or somebody.

"SYP, SAG and Sheff Council have today announced that the Blades' Champions League game at home to Feyenoord, next week, will either be played behind closed doors at Hillsborough, or moved to St Petersburg. And anyone attending the beamback at Bramall Lane will be required to exit onto Shoreham Street."

Given the regular, and very visible evidence that segregation can be handled effectively in this way (i.e. it's on TV for anyone to see it, every week of the season), it's almost as though SAG and SYP are openly admitting that they cannot do their job competently.

I've said it many times before, but i believe that segregation and police measures contributes as it generates more of an atmosphere because the idiots can't get to each other - if they could, they'd probably not behave as badly in case they got a slap. Putting dead zones in place like a Korean or Cypriot demilitarised zone and SYP making these big statements about expecting trouble etc just add to the hype. Instead of talking football it becomes about the ring of steel.

Sad to say that i think that these measures are probably right for this game, its a big, big game for both clubs and we both have our trouble makers which we can't shift. But it has to be addressed better in future games.

I can’t agree with that. The seventies showed that if you didn’t separate and police supporters they would actually start fighting. In quite large numbers.

What's daft is the knobheads and wannabe teenage holigans in thier stupid fucking badged up jumpers who insist on posturing about , goading , hanging around and generally trying to look hard . We all have them . Put up the ring of steel thing , get the Leeds scumbags back out of Sheffield asap and I'llhappily walk round it and go for a celebratory pint in peace . Rant over

Sorry, i meant outside the games.

However, there is a thought that the world has moved on... You can even drink in home pubs as an away supporter in some cities
