August 21st 1971.

GOAL - v Everton (a) 21.8.71. With nine minutes left Woodward smashed United into the lead with a ferocious shot from eight yards that found the net via the bar and post. The opening was created by Hockey's persistence followed by an intelligent pass and Everton thinking quite wrongly that Woodward was offside.

I missed the game (missed only 3 that season) cos I was on a family holiday in Ayr
Could have been December 1973 according to 11v11. I remember it was quite coolish. We scored from a corner. Everton equalised between then and full time. Probably every bit of that is wrong.
Me and my mate had started getting to away games, always with SUT from Pond st. Except Leeds away. We'd get on the X35 service - 30 odd pence - then on the football special bus to the ground. Must have been barking mad ! Kept us gobs shut.
Never seen my fellow Blade since we left school a year or so later.

Yes,Malcolm Macdonald for Luton,I think 1970/71 2-1 United i think..Didn't look upto much when he came to the Lane when we best them 2-1..different story when he came with Arsenal a few years later in the cup though.

Malcolm MacDonald in our 2-1 defeat at Kenilworth Road on December 5th 1970. Future Blade, Don Givens, is the other Luton player.

My dad's car broke down when arriving in Luton, took it to a garage, we went to the match. After the match we waited for ages for the breakdown recovery to fix the car.
