THE FUTURE ... AS IT USED TO BE

I thought we played fucking excellently. The pigs did what they came to do and that was play in one half of the pitch and only up our end when we let them. Deano had nowt to do, the two wingbacks were good (although no real decent crosses to the heads of McG or Billy), the midfield three were effective, the back three impenetrable but there's just that margin of setting Billy that half chance where, like against Wigan, he makes his opportunities count. It's that and that alone which stops us running away with this league because as much as we fucked up two points against Stoke, as much as we let a deep cross drift in versus Derby, tonight we were that final ball, once again, away from taking the pigs to the fucking cleaners, and they know it.
Henderson 5/10: That low mark is because he had nothing much to do at all, not because his performance was middling or poor
Stevens 8/10: Very busy. Always involved but for some reason there's no real 'send it across' direction
Egan 8.5/10: Really good
O'Connell 8.5/10: Same
Basham 9/10: Fucking immense. What a difference in this player.
All three back three were good … but let's not kid ourselves, the pigs barely pressed
Freeman 8/10: He always looks knackered on the hour mark. But like Stevens, very busy and industrious
Norwood 9/10: Only drops one mark because of a few misplaced passes. I see the light now with him. That Crossfield pass to Basham in the first half - if Beckham had have made that, people would have gone from slack to hard in no time at all and messed their kecks. He was the route out for us and the start point for so many attacks.
Fleck 8/10: You could see they were fearing his craft and link up work and he has the ability to go past players with ease. Great effort in the first half brought off a good save.
Duffy 8/10: Our only real threat to be honest, but found himself in front of two players too often with no real way through
McGoldrick 7.5/10: Didn't deserve to come off. Disappointing penalty but it was a good save to be honest
Sharp 8/10: Ran his socks off for the shirt and wanted that fucking goal so bad. Was almost in tears at the end on the interview
Clarke 2/10: No idea why he was on, save to mix it up. But being as we weren't cracking balls into the area, what was the point. He won the free kick, but was ineffective.
Wilder 9/10: When the pigs come to shut us out, they'll do just that. They did it last year, and they did it again and will go away thinking they have three points, the deluded piggy cunts. He was upbeat and optimistic at the end but let's not kid ourselves, we need the magic unlocking talents of someone who can find the front two and give Billy the space to score, in this division at least. And for fuck's sake, Sharp on penalties.
