can any of you statto's on here calculate the cost/benefit of us being on tv vs what we get in tv money for that game. It seems us being on tv for a home game means we lose 2000 to 4000 off the gate depending on opposition, so does the Sky revenue make up for that?(i don't know how much we get for televised games)

personally i would rather us not be on tv and have a bigger crowd and better atmosphere as i feel that then feeds thru to the players performance, rather than a more diluted atmosphere especially with less away fans

Im not complaining about midweek games but when they move sat 3pm games it means I to to mess about whether that b Fri nite kick off, sat t time or sun, regarding kids work etc

Kind of my point pal.

As a veteran pay-on-the-dayer (so to speak) I'm happy with the cost as is. If I were having to pay £40+ at Wendy I doubt it would be justifiable to go to as many games as I currently do.

I'd say people are not happy with the cost and that is why attendances are a few thousand down.

The Leeds game will be 26,000 - 27,000 instead of what should be 30,000
TV does create a drag on non season ticket holders who haven't committed to turning up every game.
We're already 2,500 down this season because the red button is very tempting for some

It's the reason why home clubs get bigger fees than the away club, it's a form of compensation

Can you explain the attendance figures for our other home games,which weren't on Sky, bearing in mind the team is playing good football and challenging at the top end of the league. I've never been too excited about attendance figures, you either want to attend or you don't, but blaming Sky viewers for reduced attendances, it's certainly a factor but not the only one IMO

I could but I’d need more accurate figures than ‘it seems 2,000 to 4,000’ for it to be worthwhile. My estimate is that it would need to be around 4,000 before we lost more on ticket money than we get from Sky, per home game.

I'd imagine so. I'm obviously not speaking for everyone, just my own view.

I would've thought making every game a lot easier to see online or via Sky has also had an impact on attendances.

I would put it at nearer 5000 tbh. Because of concessions the average ticket price would be nearer £20 than £25 so would need 5,000 to lose revenue.

I did a calculation a few years ago when the club published ticket sales revenue - at the time the adult admission was £20-£22 but the average price paid based on revenue divided by total attendance was £11.51.

I don't have a season ticket and find paying per ticket relatively reasonable for the games I can get to (probably 1/3rd-ish home games) per season). Granted it's more per game than if I had a Season Ticket, but I can't get to every game so there's no point getting one.

Prices up and over 30 quid, when last year they were mid twenties for most games.

And the we get the 'compared to other clubs brigade'. We shouldn't justify increases in price of tickets just because others are doing it. If wages had gone up for people around the country then fair enough, but people are earning less now than 8 years ago, yet prices for all commodities have increased.

There is no justification for increasing prices ahead of inflation.

I go to every game I can when I'm home and I can afford it. But as prices increase I'll pick and choose the games I go to rather than attend every game.

I'm fortunate, others aren't so.
