From the championship, Jamie Paterson from Bristol City to provide more comp upfront for United and is out of contract in the summer. Lower Leagues I would have a wide variety of players join but the stand out person would be John Marquis or even Josh Maja due to having a high - profile season so far in League 1. Premier League loans would be someone like Maitland-Niles or even Loftus-Cheek but Maitland-Niles would be the prefered option and abroad is just not an option.

Still think we might see madine on loan with a recall clause, is he getting a kick at Cardiff?

I’ll be as surprised as anybody if we have money in January to spend, I think the incoming money (brooks/bank loan) is been used to stabilise the club through the boardroom unrest..

We will do loans and not really back Chris up, hope to god I’m wrong but this is my gut feeling..

Callum Robinson would be perfect but no way will Preston accept less than £7m now.

Just 2 needed, both from the championship.

McBurnie as the younger all action striker. Will cost a lot but Swansea aren't going up and will gradually slip back to their true level, bottom half championship, top half division one.

Freeman as the back up and ultimate replacement for Duffy.

Can’t see McBurney taking a haircut on salary.

We may end up with someone like Aiden McGeady from Sunderland due to budget ?

I did consider Connor Wickham as a Premiership loan when i saw the rumours of Welbeck to Palace in January - but it looks like that move will now be off after last night.
There's always injury doubts about Wickham too.

All available funds should be used to find competition for Duffy, that is where we will fall later on in the season. Presume Freeman is on the radar still, having said that Jota would probably be easier to acquire

I presume there will be a long queue with people willing to offer more but Nick Powells contract is up in the summer and he would be a great signing

1. The Championship - Luke Freeman or Scott Hogan
2. Lower leagues - Karlan Grant - He's not got great stats, but he's young and every time I've seen him this season he looks good.
3. Premiership loan - Emile Smith-Rowe - Arsenal. Attacking mid, almost definitely not available for loan, but I can hope...
4. A foreign league - No idea, only really watch Bundesliga, and we wouldn't get any players from there.

  1. Luke Freeman QPR) or Daniel Johnson (Preston)
  2. Tom Hopper (Southend), Keiffer Moore (Barnsley) or Josh Maja (Sunderland)
  3. Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea) or Maitland-Niles (Arsenal)
  4. Luther Singh (SC Braga) - based purely on Fifa 19.

The second name on your list, with PNE struggling this season we ought to seriously target this lad. for me Johnson and the big lad from Birmingham are the stand out strikers in the Championship.

For what it's worth, mine would be:

1. Luke Freeman - natural replacement for Duffy - £5m
2. Josh Maja - young pacy striker - £2m
3. Eddie Nketiah - shown glimpses of being a quality player - Loan
4. Habib Diallo - top scorer in Ligue 2, strong striker - £5m

We could have got Freeman for £5m in the summer, I doubt we have a chance now with QPR in play off contention.

Still annoys me how we were apparently willing to pay £5m for Waghorn, but not Freeman. Madness.
