So who is this so called fan then?

So, to get this straight, are you saying that this person should have the right to say whatever he likes about the Leicester tragedy on a public platform without any repercusions except if someone decides to get their solicitor involved and take him to court?
And a second question from some of your recent posts, do you think you are in danger of saying something on here that will get you banned by SUFC?

See Kuwaiti_blade 's post above yours. Do you think the club should have the right to ban someone for referring to HRH as the "bog roll prince"? It's quite a derogatory thing to say about one of our co owners isn't it?

What's the next step from SUFC ban players of opposing teams from coming to the lane? Plenty of footballers around who have a very shady past some of who were once in the employ of SUFC at the time of their offending (and not so long ago either)

Yes. Without wishing to sound contrarian; unless the person has been found guilty in a court of law for the offence or unless he/she is posting from an SUFC account or is an employee, or unless the comments were made on SUFC property, I don’t honestly think that it’s any of the club’s business. Distasteful, ill concieced, in poor taste: Yes, but worthy of a banning order? No. Same goes for if they were banned from Sainsbury’s for the same thing. It policing something that doesn’t need to be policed by someone who shouldn’t be policing it.

Regarding my posts? As I don’t know the benchmark of what constitutes ‘vitriolic’ and we’re all summising about a LCFC topic, then I don’t know or wouldn’t hazard a guess. I’d like to think that there is a massive difference between my posts about the shortcomings of a player/manager/owner and mocking the dead.

But joking aside, in light of this story, and the lack of details about what was said. The contents, language and topics of my posts on here will be markedly different and my postings fewer in number.

No because this is solely about being able to buy tickets.

It is, I suppose, but I would imagine that the club know that fans have a right go at players, managers and owners, always have and always will - though I seem to remember some foreign owners recently who don't like being criticised by their fans - however I think the issue here is about bringing the club into disrepute, which if he has acted as a fan - associating himself with the club and therefore the club with him - they are right to act.

I use social media and I’ve not needed the courts to take matters up when I’ve found comments of some people to be vile and in really bad taste. I’ve blocked them.

I’d i was operating a business of any kind, id also consider banning them too

Out of interest how do you find that discriminatory?
Derogatory possibly at a stretch but that’s not again the Ts and Cs.

And I assume the club is not saying that he can't say what he said, but that if he chooses to say it, they exercise their right to exclude him as a customer.

Some of the stuff we say about the pigs on this forum is beyond the pale but I don't recall the club banning anyone over this.

But in the world of social media he is able to associate himself with the club on a third party site, which you've missed from your list and is a part of the modern world. You perhaps need to update. ;)

Now you're just being daft to make a point. You don't believe for a second that you come anywhere close to getting banned for your posts on here, admit it.

Actually it isn't and is taken in the context of banter anyway. A poster was recently banned from this site for wanting them all dead, or something of that nature. And since none of them have died horribly and publicly recently, it would be quite difficult to say anything along those lines anyway.

Yes. Unless it directly involves the club then it's absolutely nothing to do with them. What next? They're banned from shopping at Asda?

Like in this instance, that'd be up to the person making the decision.

So anything really could be offensive in this day and age. Might as well get rid of all social media and forums in that case.

Sorry foxy, time to shut the juggernaut down

I don't but I suspect HRH might.
I think he’d struggle to prove discrimination solely on “Bog Roll Prince”, same for what we call Wednesday fans. If we being racist, sexist etc then the club could act.
It’s quite a simple rule but if you don’t act like a cunt online you won’t get blocked from buying a ticket.

As I've said, if he has chosen to associate himself with the club as a fan of the club, and therefore drag the club into it, when making those comments then it does directly involve the club.

Some of the stuff that is said about the pigs is definitely not banter. I can say this with certainty as I've contributed quite a bit myself.

Come on, that's like saying you might as well ban cars because you don't like having a speed limit.

It’s not about offending someone it’s about discrimination.

In my view some of it is funny, some is offensive and not funny, some is puerile, etc. And at times of genuine personal tragedy, there have been moving posts of support. I think the moderators would remove the stuff beyond the pale?

He wouldn't need to, he'd just issue an edict banning the fan. That's what this thread is all about, the subjectivity of issuing a banning order.

But most half-intelligent human beings - and I'm including you in this, run with it - know where to draw the line. I doubt that the harsh banter on here (in my view occasionally over the top) would extend to comments about people who'd just died in a helicopter crash. If it was Chansiri, I wouldn't expect this forum to be filled with nasty comments about him within days of it happening.
And if it did, I wouldn't blame the club for banning them.

So it wouldn’t break the Ts and Cs of buying a ticket so you could easily look to challenge and contest it. In effect he’s banned you without any just cause or having followed any process.

Of course he can do that, and still refuse you entry, but that’s not what’s happened here, the fan has broken the terms of sale you have to agree to.

Or the speed limit
I actually changed it to "a speed limit", but the same applies. The argument against him being banned is going overboard with straw men and exagerations. People saying they're going to be afraid to post anymore, let's shut down the forum.
You know, if people really don't know what's acceptable and what isn't in the aftermath of a tragedy that took half a dozen lives, then we probably should.
