In the new year, I'll be replacing the 'Dem Blades' match-day blogs with a rough-'n'-ready, cut-'n'-paste monthly fanzine that will exist both online and off it.

WE NEED YOU...
...to offer up your contributions. Well, we don't 'need' but we'd really like to publish the thoughts and opinions of any unitedite who is interested in doing so.

If you have a burning passion to tell the world why Kieron Freeman is the best right-back in the league, if you have a hilarious away-day anecdote that you've told to friends but warrants a wider audience, or if know the answer to 'were u erd dis pal?' then this is the chance to share. We'll also have regular columns in this fanzine and we need your help with that too.

Our regular pieces will include:
- The Rumour Mill: have you heard a rumour? Did your nan's cousin spy Kean Bryan refusing to pay £3.50 for a Quinoa Health Bowl from Pret?
- Have I told you about my pond?: we're after the most mundane comments you've heard in the stands and in the pubs around Bramall Lane.
- Hot takes; Cold Chips: if you have an inflammatory opinion that you can iterate in less than 200 words - we want it!
- Badly Drawn Blades: whether MS Paint or biro scribble whilst you're on a conference call, we'd like to print your crap efforts at drawing Blades
- Agana Aunt: write in and tell us your problem, we'll speculate as to what Tony Agana in your situation
- 50 Word Match Reports: sum up a game from the month just gone in 50 words or less.
- Photobook: your photos from your life as a Blade.

Please do get involved. And, if it's not something you're interested in but you know someone that might be, please tell them (especially if they are a woman who writes!). We have an open door policy; no idea is a bad 'un unless it's downright nasty.

Drop us a note on [email protected] if you want to get involved (and stick 'Contributor' in the subject if you can).

Looking forward to hearing from some of you!

UTB.

Disappointed there isn't a Haiku section, bit none the less, I shall look forward to this.

Ambitious project , sounds great in theory but of course you’re relying on regular decent contributions.
Hope it works, something I’d be very interested in reading and if possible i’ll make some contributions too.

You're not wrong. We're not going to try and re-invent the wheel - a few regular contributors, a few regular features a smattering of the weird and whacky.

Drop us a note if you fancy contributing.

I heard a rumour that Juanpi was getting his own column?, is this true?

When Wilder ultimated an ultimatum during a McCabe v Big Prinz spat I Haikued....

Most of us have trouble spelling words to start with, now you want us to worry about counting the lines and the fucking SYLLABLES!!!!!
Are you some sort of sadistic torturer???
:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I bow to you
And to the greatest poet of my generation, Dr John Cooper Clarke. Here's his Haiku....

That sounds like a feature to me: Games from the Past in 50 letters or less.

I might find some of my old match reports from a long time ago and just stick in some of the really good and bad ratings....random ratings. Maybe fans can guess the game?! Have to find that Jordan Stewart 1/10 and the description somewhere!

Does Jordan Stewart 1/10 narrow it down that much?

This sounds good. Ratings on one side, players on the other: Match the report to the player.

Deadbat could give his player ratings and state whether we were at home or away, not the score or the opponents
We have to guess that bit

There's deffo summat in that.

Really keen to get old photos if anybody has any there are willing to share? Or, even, photos of memorabilia (tat) that you don't know why you keep, AKA the prized possessions of the Carrier Bag Firm.

The Carrier Bag Firm STRONGLY advise you DON'T use a FLASH when photographing tat. It imperceptibly fades the colours of the said tat. True Baggers will be able to tell.
Schoolboy Error.....

Guess the match...... :)

2002/03.

Confident. Game started. We fell apart. Left after their third.
For reason beyond my control, I was on a houseboat on that day. I was far too nervous to listen on the radio. When we pulled into Sprotbrough, I ran around looking for a pub. Saw a big telly through a window; 3-0. I've never watched the highlights.

…Might lend itself to 'big games I'm glad to have missed'.

The last 's' in 'syllables' doesn't need to be counted on its own

That's my Haiku for the day.

I have stuck on a retro report from a game from the Prem v Arsenal but sure many will want reports from games we have completely forgot! I will also try the ratings v guess the player and guess the game at some point.....
