Purely speculative at the moment of course, but one main reason for me is that I'd love to see CW have the chance to pit his wits against the likes of Mourhino, Guardiola and, errrrrr, Neil Warnock!
What a moment it would be to hear the MOTD pundits drooling over his achievements if we/he managed to pull it off and then bulldoze our way through the first few games in the Prem!!

There’s fuck all chance of matching up against Warnock in the PL next year !!

To reward us fans.

Because if there’s any set of fans in the entire country who deserve a bit of success bar none, it’s us.

Id love to see it just to be able to watch pep guardiola man city in person. Sure we could get hammered but it would be a privilege to watch the likes of David Silva, Sergio aguero & Kevin de bruyne

I'd love it for us fans for Billy and for Chris, but boy how much would it kill you inside if you where a pig having to put up with us being in the premier league having been so close themselves and us being so far behind , id love it mainly for that reason
This ^^

Agree but you can just imagine the BBC commentators who will expect us to be identical to Warnocks Cardiff.

They’ll describe Wilders Sheffield United as big and physical, organised and we work so hard.
They’ll also say we have a great spirit and play to our strengths.’
No doubt they’ll say Wilder will set up to stop and negate the opposition. They haven’t got a clue ha ha

My youngest is 15 and has 40k plus loyalty points but NO recollection of the one premiership season in his lifetime.

For his benefit alone I’m willing us on for promotion. After he sees the lack of hospitality, warmth and genuine welcoming at the vast majority of “big clubs” up there for away fans, I feel his viewpoint may then change.... but it will be his personal viewpoint from his own experiences and not just his cynical dad or elder brother !

Like Robbie Savage the other year when we lost to Man Utd in the cup at Old Trafford, saying that the Man Utd players wouldn’t fancy a replay on our pitch, implying it was like a fucking ploughed field. That would have been on our brand new Desso pitch, the same as Man Utd’s, just newer.
We would get dismissed out of hand by many of the patronising twats who feel football was invented by Sky and the Premier League. Plucky Sheffield United, long ball cloggers.

There's nothing particularly original about this, but either way, remaining as a member of the Premiership or being relegated, we'd be in a far stronger position financially. It would follow the model that Burnley benefited from, until they were eventually able to strengthen their team enabling them to remain in the Premiership.

Of course, with our manager, probably the most underestimated man in professional football, who knows what we could achieve? We'd certainly be quick learners, and that alone would be worth seeing.

To rock up to Monday night footy with my Sheffield born mates who all support Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal and be able to join in the conversation.

Can you imagine gary neville & jamie carragher talking about us. Also when i remember our bit in premier league 12yrs ago it seems like the stone age. Premier league was only european in fans watching now it global event.
In 06/07 we had Sky & premier plus
18/19 Sky Amazon & BT war.

06/07 tv deal was worth 1.03 billion
17/18 tv deal was worth 5.14 billion

They spent 210m in 06/07 summer transfer window. Compared to 1.24 billion this seasons summer transfer window

My one reason is “survival”.

In a situation where the money that feeds the game is spread amongst the few it’s important for the long term future of the club that we are eating at that table.

Anything else is a bonus.

We'll have a bit more money to spend but as bunch of pub league team players Chris will go upmarket and instead of the Hen and Chickens he'll recruit from Dore Moor Inn.

Where ever he'll turn them into a winning team.

For us to be as good as we can be
Bollocks to everybody else

Mega millions would come in, but mega millions would have to go out. And we'd still have our boardroom

Puke.

(I’m sure that’s what you meant)
