Of the top seven, only the Blades and Norwich won. Leeds, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Derby and Forest all drew. It's the draws that kill you - two points dropped.

That's why CW's Blades are so successful - just 21 draws out of 107 league games played under CW.

Could this weekend get any better? Oh yes. The pigs lost.

Now we need the bottom teams to start picking up points to consign the pigs to Division One, where they only got out of by default.

Still disappointed with the Stoke game but we can't win 'em all! Top of the League, still can't believe it but this team is doing amazingly and plays as a team.

I've just said to our lass, Send your cousin in Torquay a message saying it's a good night to be a Blade, He's a Sheffield lad originaly

Hope they've learned the lessons over the last week that we can't take a breather until we're at least 3 goals up
A point (at least) at Derby and two points chucked away against Stoke and the League table would look even better

Now it's onto my two most hated teams Florist and the pigs. No rational reason for hating Florist apart from the fact that I've never met a nice Florist fan, I've only met four in my life to be fair, but all four were thoroughly rotten people right down to their cores. A bit unfair maybe but lasting impressions and all that.

Top of the league, strangely we had more points at this stage last season

Good weekend, yeah you can't beat a Sheffield double.

I was saying that walking back to the car. And it was (quite correctly) pointed out to me that we have a much better squad so thenext two thirds of this season should see us accumulate more points per game than in the last campaign

This really is a crazy division this season. Only 6 points between top and 10th. Lose a couple and we could be out of the top 6!

Like that's going to happen. We play the stupid free falling pigs in 2 games time.

Who won? That is Dortmund vs Berlin? Wonder why Berlin haven't as yet put together a really successful team. Capital city, lots of kudos, big support potential, presumably lots of money around and potential investors, or are Berliners into rugby or a German sport I've never heard of?

Ditto PSG in France. Nowhere until money injection several years ago. Actually has ruined the French league, only ever one club in it !

Was 2-2 with Hertha getting a late penalty to equalise, mostly against the run of play. Dortmund look great going forward and they seemed hopeful of a good season in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

Went out for some dinner and beers with some Dortmund lads - it’s interesting that they perceive Berlin to be economically less robust as was is in (albeit partly) East Germany. Hertha are the right wing club and Union are the left wing.

I was surprised about a bit of trouble in the ground from the Hertha Ultras, kicking off big time with the police and then giving a steward a bit of a shoeing. The Dortmund lads we were with said this kind of stuff does happen in the Bundesliga and Hertha have a bad reputation for it. The police seemed very lenient. SYPD would have battered them and this is something I haven’t seen in the UK for 10-15 years at least. One steward had a real pop back though and dropped some absolute bombs!

Other observations were there were loads more younger lads and lasses, kids and teenagers in the crowd. The atmosphere was outstanding and the safe standing section behind the goal was superb all game. What a scene! I was in the family section where the older folk and families were sat, but they still all got involved with the chanting. There was also a club bar at the ground with a band, music, food and loads of local beer. Train tickets from Düsseldorf (about an hour away) were included in the match day price!

The sooner we get a large safe standing section at SUFC the better. The sight of 25,000 young lads and lasses, plus the young at heart, bouncing around and singing for 90 minutes made me realise what we’ve lost at football in England.
