Well done United!

What a pathetic op. Attitudes like yours are why we are unlikely to ever actually achieve anything. I ve never been able to understand why people are so easily pleased with average be it the football team you support or the quality of food you get in a restaurant. Demand better. It really is ok to do so.

Bill it sounds like demanding 'better' has taught you very little. Of course we want the Blades to do well, but if Blade's fans adopted your overly-simplistic approach they'd be no wiser about those things that really matter. Since Chris Wilder became manager of the Blades we've progressed in leaps and bounds. Maybe not be the extraordinarily high standards that you seem to imagine are achievable, but the progress is there for those to see who value what has happened. You clearly don't.

You believe that anyone who chooses a different perception to yourself is less ambitious than you. Which just goes to show that you're incapable of appreciating that the world works in ways that aren't restricted to one-dimensional notions of what constitutes success.

Who have you been supporting for the last 50 or so years?
It must have been hell for you every moment of your life. :(

Given you have nt and never will meet me that's a pretty stupid post isn't it. Harris teams wouldn't have looked pathetic after going 1 0 up would they? They'd have gone for the throat and got another 2 or 3 against a crap Stoke and that's exactly what we should have done.

We held our own and outclassed a team costing tens of millions.

We do need to keep doing after we go ahead as we have before, we seem a little weak mentally in that respect, almost surprised we're in front, then invite trouble, eventually a lack of experience and we make the inevitable mistake, sort that and get more clinical in front of goal and we'll be even better.

Having said all that it still feels like a loss!

Where do I send the cheque for the counselling.
It's a football forum. Unlike you I have a life and can't be arsed to write War and Peace every time I post. If you want to meet up I'll happily give you my expanded version. It takes about 4 days.

Very good performance, importantly we kept going through the 2nd half and just dominated the game to be honest from start to finish. I’m fucking frustrated with that result but to be honest, fuck knows where we will finish this season, but I’d rather see us play like that and draw than pinch a point like Stoke did. We’ll definitely win more games than we lose playing like that

Unlike you I don't imagine I know anything about the life of a complete stranger.

If you seriously consider my previous post as a comparison to 'War & Peace' then you've clearly not read a great deal. If I were to require payment for the counselling that you so obviously need you couldn't afford my hourly rate. Please don't presume to understand anything, apart from those limitations that make me question whether you know a great deal about anything at all.

Feels like points dropped to me. We were by far the better team, we all know it and so do the Stoke fans (they are honest enough to say it). We are not too far off the finished product, and just need a bit of composure at critical moments. Over the course of the season, it is the teams who can put the ball into the open goal, rather than sky it over the top, that will probably go up.

Glad Leon got on the score sheet, he put a good shift in, but unlike the FLDC game at the weekend, this one was tailor made for Billy, scrambles in the box, open goals, jittery keeper.

Anyway, we go again on Saturday.

UTB.

I'm genuinely relieved that you think that way. I'd be heartbroken to think I was as stupid as you on any level. Thank you for reassuring me. Seriously.

Stoke beat us 3-2 at the Lane under Harris ,first season back in Div 1 about this time of year.

Did we dominate the entire game, go 2-0 and then toss it off and completely forget how to play football and forget how to do all those things that got us 2-0 up though
I can't remember

No. It was a hard fought game and scurried had 1 disallowed as the lion deemed it out before he struck it from a tight angle near the goal line.
Quite why our game against Stoke in 71 has got Jack to do with the crap last 20 tonight I don't know save to say I attend3d both games.

They were more bothered about what crouch was doing than doing the basics. Goalie should never have been beaten there if wall was set right and defenders did their job

It's all down to us improving our strike force. Approach the end of a game with fine margins and you're always susceptible to goals like last night and at Derby.

I don’t think anyone’s being ‘doom and gloom’ in any sense.

There’s a lot of understandable disappointment from today and Saturday - we should be clear at the top. People might say it’s being spoilt but I don’t care, I want us to be the best in this division and I know we can be, no team could’ve coped with us in the first half of the second half today or the first half of the Derby game. We’ve come away with 1 point from the games.

The football has been brilliant but we MUST work on our end product and we MUST start putting teams to bed if we want to go places.
Agree with this, because we are going to have games where we don't play well and will lose. Need to take our chances whilst we can, you only end up ruing them otherwise.

what disappoints me is some people who love the opportunity to come on here to prove their bigger bladeness by stating they are not disappointed that we let in a goal 2 minutes from time and everyone else is an idiot.. i'm sure Chris and the team are as disappointed as we are.

So we lost a game we should have won ,last night we drew a game we should have won. You brought Harris up.

I was replying to Harrisblade. Don't think it's unreasonable to think the username refers to the great man.

Woodward (pen) early in the game 1-0
John Ritchie 1-1

Half time

Dennis Smith 1-2
TC beauty 2-2
TC disallowed goal
Terry Conroy hit the winning goal despite looking offside

Similarities to that season. We were top of the league playing unbelievable football. Lost our first game of the season early October to Man Utd in that famous 'Best goal' game.

Stoke City up next at home and we all thought that John Harris's team with TC and Woody would bounce back. Well we didn't.

Last night the Blades did bounce back after that Derby defeat but were desperately unlucky to only pick up a point.

Don't tell Bill
