It’s good because it’s a Paul Heaton song as well.

What's the name of the original song?
My thoughts exactly! When the link was put up, it was one of those aaaahhhh moments.Either those fans can't hold a note save theur life or that's a tenuous link at best

Wow.
If that really is the original song then this chant is up there with other crimes against rhythm, such as butchering of 'September' by Earth, Wind and Fire by football fans across the nation.
Notable mention goes to the GCB song, which starts off at 146 beats per minute as per the original, but for some reason when our fans sing it they are compelled to speed it up to about 5000 bpm by the end..
Exactly.I blame all those under the age of 21 for the increase in bpm. The simplest chant to keep time to is the oh so simple ‘Sheffield United’. It’s easy. 2 words. It starts off with one bloke shouting it, echoed by another. Back and forth back and forth. Until a young un drops in and ruins it.
I’ve always questions how they get on between the sheets. Singing a song is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You’ve got to find the right rhythm and keep it going steady. Don’t rush it too soon or you’ll ruin it for yourself, let alone her.
Exactly.
Case in point - the Icelandic thunderclap. Slow, powerful and brilliant.
Then some other nations tried to copy it but ruined it through lack of patience and ended up making it sound like a hurried mess.
It's a bit early for this kind of talk Ainsley mi owdI blame all those under the age of 21 for the increase in bpm. The simplest chant to keep time to is the oh so simple ‘Sheffield United’.
