Or would you prefer they didn’t?

“Not ready yet”

“Need another season to consolidate”

“We’d get beat every week”

“Wouldn’t be able to get tickets”

“Prices would go up”

“Premiership is not as exciting as Championship”

What’s your take on it?

Go up, stick to our methods of spending sensibly and see how we do.
If we compete great, if we come down we domso with a windfall and go again.

That’s the way to build a premier league side that stands the test of time. Hopefully this will fend off advances from other clubs formour managers services, because if he keeps us going as we are those approaches will come and United needs to match the ambitions of the manager Irma he will have to,leave.

My take on it is that it would be every bit as exciting as the championship with CW's Mighty Blades ripping through it!

Is this a rhetorical question?

that's my worry. if an Everton come knocking our Chris would find it hard to turn down.

I'm sure some of our apologists would find many belittling statements explaining why we don't belong there
We're not good enough
It's scary
How can we compete
We obviously don't belong in the same League as Bournemouth, Watford, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Cardiff, Leicester, Fulham, Wolves, Huddersfield
A league that has recently seen Bolton, Stoke, Wigan, Blackburn, West Brom, Birmingham, QPR, Middlesboro, Sunderland, Derby, Forest, Ipswich, Norwich, Hull City, Portsmouth, Coventry, Reading and Swansea all be in there for more than 9 months

Go up definitely, to secure the clubs finances. 5/6 new signings and see how we do, max £50m outlay incl. wages and see what happens. If we come down then it’s not unexpected, stay up, it’s another £100m !

Unless we get a multi billionaire owner, we’ll just be in the group of 10 or so teams who are just waiting to get relegated. May take a couple of seasons or 10 as in Stokes case

It's all those "average" players you were banging on about.....

Nice section for flag wavers and Mormon Tabernacle Choir wannabes singing Glad All over to the beat of a drum, every five minutes.

Nice :(

Some of you may fear what you like. Personally, it'd be fantastic to leave the preferred pass around endlessly between the defenders go nowhere football behind and take on the Premier League with the Wilders revolutionary all variation football. It may just surprise a few.

Get up, sign Harry,Kyle,Deano (current),Brooks , rebuild kop, extend TC stand .... piece of piss !!

Walker and Maguire are never allowed to play for us ever again because it would be classified as Bladey Blade nonsense.

There's a certain poster on here who would have stopped Chris Wilder and Billy Sharp returning to the club for the exact same reason.

I'm enjoying being in the Championship and doing well in it, but being promoted is obviously what it's all about.

All this are we ready stuff is irrelevant, get promoted and you get up to £200 Million additional income, providing the board show some ambition ( yeah yeah, I know ) Chris Wilder, Alan Knill and their staff will get the opportunity to prove their ability against the big boys.

Burnley, Watford and Bournemouth have shown that it can be done, so why can't we?

The supply of ridiculous amounts of money has ruined football in my opinion, drugs are banned in sport, everyone agrees that that's right because it's totally unfair that one competitor or team should have an unfair advantage over the opposition.
Sport is all about fair competition, each participant must have as near as possible an equal chance of success, the only thing that should make the difference between winning and losing is ability, determination and perhaps a little bit of luck on the day.

So why is it considered perfectly acceptable for some clubs to have the advantage of spending multi millions of pounds more than their opponents and being able to pick and choose from proven international class players while the rest have to choose from lower league players and try to develop their own while the rich clubs take advantage and hoover up any likely looking prospects they have?

Still think it's a great game but I've lost the love I used to have for it. I'll continue with my season ticket while still capable of attending and will still want the Blades to succeed no matter what.

Despite my cynicism it would be wonderful to see us go up and stay up especially with one of our own in charge.

“Not ready yet”
Ready for anything this squad/manager

“Need another season to consolidate”
Nope. Get gone

“We’d get beat every week”
Maybe, maybe not.

“Wouldn’t be able to get tickets”
I would.

“Prices would go up”
Away days would be cheaper

“Premiership is not as exciting as Championship”
Said by people that aren't in it.

My only fear would be that people would turn on Wilder if things weren't going well. Otherwise, I want Sheffield United to win every game left this season and that would make promotion unavoidable.

It would be extremely exciting to see a United side led by Wilder in the Prem, with some decent money to spend. Think we'd be on the end of a few heavy defeats but would be great to watch overall, and if we could stay up and get a foothold, would see us build into a top side.

All dreams at the moment of course, but at least dreams the first steps of which are now reasonably within reach, rather than absurd, as seemed only a couple of seasons back.

Looking forward to half and half scarves, corporate boxes full of people who have just come to see the big teams, curious non football fans complaining about swearing, £50+ away tickets, being the last team on match of the Day, if we win pundits only talking about the opposition in crisis, condescending reporters seemingly surprised at the ground / atmosphere, getting into the back pages of the national papers, newspaper sports writers proudly coming up with new headlines like ‘Blades blunted’ ‘Blades on the cutting edge’ ‘Sharp Blades blunt United’ and yes calling us Sheffield United and Man U simply United.
But on the bright side, proudly watching a team not scared to take on all comers and surprise a few :). Bring it on. UTB COYRAWW

Yeah it would. Apart from the ownership issues, and even those have taken the form of the most polite fight I've ever seen, we've not had many better spirit/ players/backroom staff/fan connection combos to have a go at the top division with.

Would be nice just to get the attention and money, maybe stay up a bit, get a new Kop, get Bramall Lane on FIFA for the kids etc.

And as others had said, as long as we keep the same team, and keep being sensible, some parachute payments would set us up for years.

Weirdly it'd be a step back in coverage though probably because for all it's faults, iFollow is pretty decent and I'd miss it for the games I couldn't attend.

I'm just loving the fact that wilder has give us the actual possibility of getting promoted.

I am getting a similar feeling to this time last season when we were first..even more so that it seems our team has improved.
The blades are playing the best football i have seen in my lifetime and I'm enjoying it, it's bloody entertaining.

1 game at a time as they say.

I'd be happy with a season in the Prem.

Anymore than that and i'd probably lose interest as i like Saturday 3pm games.

it's alright going up but mccabe won't like it because he will have to spend big money in prem but let's not get ahead of ourselves

I always said this whilst we were in league 1. 20k attendances with lower wages than the championship must have been lovely. We’re now taking loans out to cover day to day running of the club.

My worry is that there would be some form of Karl Oysten approach where all the money goes into the owners pockets leaving us in league 2 in 4 years time.

Ripping through it to go where though? If we rip through it, it will inevitably result in our promotion. Do we want that?
Unless we rip through it and then with 10 games to go and then just play the development squad for the last 10 games

The whole point of being a fan is trying seeing us at the top table competing with the best week in week out?
