Tyler smith for jan ? Multiple club sell on clause ? He on fire give him a chance utb

Can we please stop doing this. The championship is an incredibly hard league where the quality is so high. To be a teenager and play in the championship basically means your premiership bound.

Tyler Smith is a good player and hopefully makes a career for himself. But to say he should come and play championship football is ridiculous.

No one is seriously saying get him in the team now. If he keeps up his form until Jan, I'd get him back here and send him to League One/Two for the rest of the season and see how he does. At 19, he could still be one for this level in a few years time.

He seems to score very frequently in the national league so he’s obviously got something about him. But yeah, too early yet. As has been suggested, try to get him at a L1 club in the JTW.

I know it's easy to do, but look at Jamie Vardy.

Scored for fun in the lower leagues but never done it at a higher level than that.

;)

He was 25 when he left Fleetwood though and Tyler Smith is still very young. I reckon he needs a full season at Conference level and then next season a loan to League One or Two and see how he does then. The season after that - assuming we're not in the Prem, I reckon he could be ready for the first team squad - not based on seeing him play, but based on a likely progression rate. If he was David Brooks quality he'd be in the first team already and there's not many like him and they inevitably leave anyway!

L1 minimum for me, there’s not a big difference between the national league and league 2. If he had a year at Barrow and continued to score at his current rate he’d benefit from a step up.

As an aside, if I was running Chesterfield I’d be asking Martin Allen why him and RND are at Barrow when Chesterfield are struggling in the same league.

Possibly because they’re a bit of a shambles at the minute, and it might also be down to the style of play. Barrow from what I’ve read about them play a bit more of a passing style under Evatt.

They've got a gobby director and they did themselves no favours when the Ched deal came out just before our last game in 2017.

They may well not be a 'loan destination of choice' as far as SUFC are concerned and if that's the case, it's fine by me.

Any good puns involving jackdaws?

A bit of a bad line here.

Did you say ......

Both Tyler and Semple are playing games each week and from the “loan update” post are doing really well.

The best thing is they are playing games. Even at a slightly lower level. All that matters now, is playing as many games as possible.

Worrying that Slater, Graham and Gilmour don’t seem to be playing .....

January SUFC first team duty for any of these is a little early IMO.

I predict the lad will be a regular for us in a couple of seasons.

Just seen that Tyler has gone to Bristol Rovers on loan yesterday. not even hit the rumour mill or been confirmed. No room for this talk with the more pay discussion I guess

Damn

Saw the OP and thought he was back on the Forum.

Maybe sometime soon.
